I have a wild population of green caterpillars living on and eating away at my window-box flower bed. It seems a stray butterfly dropped some eggs off on my sill and now they have nowhere to go! Are these moth larvae? Should I try to get rid of them, or will I enjoy their beautiful presence when they turn into butterflies?

Not sure if they are moth or butterfly, but if you post your picture on the insect and spider forum, someone there should be able to ID them for you.
