I planted two persimmon tree in the spring of 2008 and they just have not developed like any of the other fruit trees. The leaves are curled up a bit as well and we are in AZ. Can anybody give me some advice, please?
persimmons trees not growing like expected
Your summer may be too hot for persimmons as they seem to do best in moderate winters and mild summers. Also, you need a male and a female tree in order to produce fruit. Just having two trees does not guarantee fruit.
Here is a link for care for persimmons. Hope you find this useful.
