Okay...time to break camp and move to greener pastures. A little fungus in honor of so much rain.
ROCKS, CORN and CARAVANS...more gypsy chatter
I wish we had rain
Sorry to vent and run but my mom showed up with GS he wants to stay at papa's house. Papa is his favorite unless he's hungry then it's grandma!
Have a good evening everyone, I am officially nurse grandma now and GS just informed me papa's home.
Maybe be back later.
thanks for listening
Jim I think the mowing will wait another day. If not I have a new bottle of Roundup. LOL
Oh, nice! It looks like the clear part would feel smooth.
Trina, are you going to cut off that iris seed pod?
rocks are good!
Moon, does the seed-pod thing apply to lillies as well as iris? my lillies have seed pods on them. I'd rather feed the bulbs.
is that fungus an artist' mushroom?
Pretty! Where do you get your rocks?
voted as my favorite so far.
dave!
I have rocks in my head does that count?
I had only a couple of lilies before JJ sent me some. One of them had a seed pod. I read that you should wait until it opens before taking off, if that is what you want to do. I thought mine was opening so I took it off. I let it completely dry. I found 4 seeds in the pod.
For irises I read that from the seeds you could get something very undesirable. For example, they said, someone wanted a radish that grew on top of the ground. So they crossed a cabbage and a raddish. They got the roots of a cabbage and the top of a radish! Just like when I took a canteloupe seed from the grocery and planted it. I didn't get melons, I got cucumber things and some things that looked more like squash but hard as a rock!
HI Dave, Moon, JJ, Jim, Venice, Smiley, Trina...whew wait til Seed & Flowers shows up...
I seem to be missing you all lately.
Smiley thought maybe that was a pic at first ;)
That one is gorgeous!!!
hhhhmmmm...gardening mysteries 101
Thanks for the info Venice. I think 1 of the seedpods is open.
something in my house is eeping and I can't find it
Hi Lynnie. I was the only early bird this morning, I missed you!
I had those things on my irises last year, plucked them off without thinking then got nervous maybe I ruined the flowers for next year...never saw them after that. I did get beautiful flowers the following spring.
that would definately bring a whole new meaning to "grab Bag"
Yes I got up just late enough to to rush today, no eggs for breakfast, no computer time...
Trina what's eeping?
beeping...somethings beeping like a dead cell phone or something and I can't find it
put some earplugs in before you go crazy looking *grin*
1 son is home now and he's looking for it too
Hi Lynnie,
You can sleep late once in awhile.
Dave those rocks are pretty, love the last one.
OOps little guy calling better go
Well late was 5:30 hahaha if I want breakfast & computer time I have to get up by 5:15 on work days.
Hope your GS feels better JJ. These fevers can take awhile to run their course, it can be exhausting.
If you don't want your pods and seeds, would you dry them out and save them for me? please? Although you may just want to experiment yourself and put them out in the backyard. I think it would be cool to find out what the seeds produce!
me too...do I get irises or some funky looking thing....I will keep you posted about what it does!
You probably will get some funky looking thing! Such fun!!!
It has been so dry here also. I will have to water tomorrow for sure. It is suppose to rain all next week from at least from Sunday to Saturday. So I guess, you LA people, it is coming up here so maybe it will be dry down there for a while!
that's a cool one Dave
Venice I got some seeds off my hibiscus and know where there are some giant red ones about a block away I'm going to check out.
Thanks Lynnie, if I remember my younger days, ( when my kids were little) don't think I'll get much sleep tonight. Had one with croup once, bad stuff.
JJ I hope your GS doesn't have whatever this is...nasty stuff that's for sure!
