Okay, all you green thumb gardeners. It's bulb planting time. I have some oriental lilies to plant. I planted some in the past, but this time I want them to stand out in the garden and make a statement--so to speak. In other years, I would plant one or two here and there. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.--IrishLass.

Hi,
You'd probably get better results posting in the Garden Design Forum

Thank you Xeramtheum. I didn't know that site existed. I will give it a try. I haven't been getting much feedback to a lot of my questions. Maybe I was on the wrong forum. Thanks again and have a nice weekend.-IrishLass
I'd plant them in a mass. They always get noticed more than one here, two there, etc.
Thanks Pirl. That is something I was thinking of doing or behind smaller shrubs. Have a nice weekend.--IrishLass
I would Plant about 5"+ apart or so, giving the blooms room to show; also to allow for little bulbs to spread. Maybe consider a staggered bloom time..cover a few weeks..I like the hiding feature.,but allow for air flow. If behind shrubs maybe could surround with chicken wire to prevent bunny nibbles a Major problem in my neighbors lily bed.
I like clusters of 3 or 5 instead of a line of blooms, but that is just a preference.
Maybe plant annuals that would add charm to the area and still be able to be dead headed after the lilies are done. The tall snapdragons are great for that in my garden.
Good luck.
Marcia
Thanks Marcia for all your good ideas. I like the idea of planting three or five together. Also, the annuals is a great idea too. Have a great evening.---IrishLass
You also, happy gardening week.
I always plant at least thre bulbs in a wide hole,I also use Bulb Tone fertilizer Spring and after bloom.
