Second shot, hummingbird.
2009 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds Vol. 9
DH spotted one this morning on the flowers....
Nice ones GP!
Those are nice!! I had one at the feeder but again the camera was not handy...
Thanks!
Nice ones GP..I really love those flower shots.
We have had a few Hummers each day so I still have 4 feeders out. I almost cried when I cleaned the others and put them away for the season...DH tried not to laugh! LOL!
Great photos Gardenpom! Your blooms are as pretty as the birds.
Rose, love that "attitude" photo too.
Beautiful pics GP and Rose!
Today is the first day of not seeing any Hummers....boo hoo!!
Thanks Pelle....
Edited to say...I was wrong...one just showed up...I take back the boo hoo!! LOL!

That is cute Elphaba!
ooo, she's pretty with that "soft touch"
She's just beautiful Rose!
Elphaba, love your little rider too!
Wow, Rose, nice one! How on earth did you get such a great shot through a screen? That's amazing.
Thanks all...everyone I see now is truly a gift. Did you notice how full her little tummy is?
Elphaba...she was only about 7 feet from the window is all I can figure out!!
Oh...nice pics Elphaba & Rose!!
I haven't seen one since saturday...but not ready to say they are all gone!! lol
I had indeed noticed that paunch, Rose. You should add that one to the bird files to illustrate just how much condition they need to put on to have a chance at successful migration.
I saw one on the feeder near the window drinking and her belly just kept getting bigger and bigger as she drank! too cute.
Their bellies do get bigger and bigger and just when you think they're going to explode they go sit on a branch and digest.
This pic is not so hot, but I had to share the story. This hummer chased the dragonfly off his perch several times. The dragonfly wasn't even close to the feeder. Finally, the dragonfly was fed up and he came after the hummer. That blurry red thing is the dragonfly coming to get the hummer. He chased off the hummer and then he chased every butterfly and bee out of the garden and then he went back to his perch.
How amazing to witness that, Elphaba.
They can be so uncooperative huh! Great shot.
That is a cool shot Elphaba...must have been something to witness!
GP...I am loving your shots!
0 Hummingbirds here the last 4 days! :-(
same here pelle....*sigh*
I saw one in Cape May this morning. :-)
I have had visitors this morning!! :) can't load pics to computer right now...later!
Congrats Pelle and Nanny! Haven't seen one here since 10/5...lots of rain the past two days though. I am sure there are more to come, though I would rather they were all safely in their warm winter homes. I will keep watching!!
With the heavy rains due I had expected some company. So I made sure I made fresh nectar yesterday. I only have the hummzinger out now and I moved it to the front porch so it would be covered.
Sure enough as Buddy and I were heading out for our morning walk(we walk 365 days a year!)...there they were!!
you need to put a spotlight on that porch, lol.
That's just great. I haven' seen any for days, but it's been pretty dreary here too. In fact, the whole garden is really not looking good due to the cold coming on. But there are still a few flowers, and 4 feeders out if anyone is interested!
