well that's neat flowers!

Didn't even think in terms of diagnosis, just seriousness. Since she has had obstructions before, it is a good possibility that that is occurring again. You have best plan possible laid out. If push comes to shove, I am sure you and Steve can get her in a car....grin, although little old ladies can be feisty....grin

Too cool, Karen. Native means originates in that area.....same thing for plants as people. A native plant grows naturally in the wild in a location, and was not introduced to that area by importation or artificial means.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Moon, I knew you could give a better definition!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Hi flowers that fine and thank you.
Just a stubborn woman who says she ain't having anything done if somethings wrong anyway, too old.
Told her that was just going to make her suffer not everything is lifethreatning.
Just wanted a little input on if I should be worried for her.

She always tells me to roll her in the pond.
I say sure so I can spend my days in jail. lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Your definition was spot on Venice. Mine is just a line from a text book or journal I read at sometime.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

I Think it is coool. Evidently when the tall jack pines were cut the native tree was able to get the sunlight to thrive because didn't see them before tall trees were cut. Yes I'm with you that little lady needs to see a dr. soon; Trina you always have something blooming Thats great.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

jj sounds like my kind of elderly lady ya gotta luv em

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

hhhmmm...me beginning to think chest on fire yesterday was definately an allergic reaction to something, cause that type of chest cold doesn't disappear on its own in less than 8 hours...

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

only cause I grow them in the house flowers...I'm sure If I grew these outside the would have stopped flowering by now

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

She can be fiesty alright, but we have an edge.

Not to make light of her problems but she can't see us coming.

I do very much appreciate the help though. Because I was not sure how concerned I should be.

Will keep close eye on her.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

So Moon, do I need to put those clematis seeds from this summer in the fridge?

Trina, does that mean you are better or not? I was confused!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

If the pain gets too bad, you won't have too much trouble getting help for her.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, in my opinion, if she isn't better by Thursday morning, I would call her doctor and see if she could get an apointment before the weekend.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Trina you never know what reactions you will get with different plants. I got eat up by ants when working in friends yard the other day and itchy all over. Maybe you should take a break from your plants for a day or two to see if symptons go away.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Ok I'm going to go try to make stuffed peppers. For lack of knowing what to do with all these I picked today.

Ought to be interesting.
Smiley wanna help??

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I have stuffy head feeling but I knew that was coming....but yesterday after messing around outside Every breathe I took felt like my chest was on fire....I've had bronchitis off and on since childhood...that's what it felt like..but bronchitis doesn't go away in 8 hours just because you took robitussin.....

Still have head cold...but what ever I got up close to that wouldn't allow me to breathe is gone....so definately BETTER not great but better

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

JJ better freeze the peppers you have extra. Went to farmers mkt today and they were expensive. Sounds like allergies to me Trina. Venice would like to help you with seed question but not sure. Hey Smileymon!!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I have been freezing them flowers. Usually they don't do well but this year while everyone else has not gotten much out of their garden because of the weather, my plants look lousy but are producing like crazy.

Read somewhere to spray them with epsom salt and they really took off.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Trina, are you still smoking??? That will really make your chest raw! I know from past experience when I use to smoke.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Venice, I only put seeds in the freezer if I am planning on keeping them for an extremely long time. Most of my seeds are stored in small manila envelopes (the size you put keys in) and I keep them in a tin box with a tight fitting lid and store at room temperature.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Oh shoot, forgot to throw out grass seed, brb yall carry on. We are fixing to get a few days rain and want to get it out. Moon I got all those plants out and forgot what half of them were and where I should plant them so next spring should be interestiong for sure lol

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Moon -- So you think I could plant these new seeds now?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

flowers when your grass seed starts growing send me a picture for reference will you...and no venice I haven't had but maybe a drag or 2 in the last 48 hours..since the burning chest thing started...

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

You can just call it your surprise garden, Flowers.

JJs, what kinda peppers are you stuffing?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, make her have a diet that is good for her diarrhea. Tell her to eat and chew slowly.

Ripe bananas, rice, applesauce, toast, tea, potatoes, Activia, cottage cheese.
No raw food, sweets, beans, or fatty foods.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, have you had roasted peppers?

"Our recommendation for storing peppers is simple. If you are roasting many and want to store them indefinitely, try freezing them. Layer the peppers between sheets of wax paper in a plastic container for easy removal. and thaw as many as needed. Stored this way, roasted peppers should last for several months. If you have a small amount of leftover peppers that you plan to use within a week or two, place them in a small container, cover them with olive oil, and refrigerate them. "

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

cottage cheese gives me diarrea

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Venice, they will need temperatures above 60-65 degrees to germinate, which they will get now, but what are you going to do with them over the winter? The plants will not be anywhere ready to go into the ground until 6 to 8 weeks after they first sprout out. That would make it sometime in November before they were ground ready, but it would be way too cold for baby plants outside, so you would have to overwinter them in the house. I would look up the last frost date predicted for your are and back up six to eight weeks and plant them then. If the last frost date is March 15th, say, then you would start your seeds in side in mid to late January. In the meantime, you can just put them into an envelope and protect them from moisture until you are ready to plant. Hope that helps..... Moon

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Never roasted a pepper.
Blanche them and freeze them.
Honestly I don't usually have to worry cause I don't get enough.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

JJ, blackberrys and or juice from them is a teriffic remedy for diarrea.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Trina don't think you would want to follow my lead on grass seed. I use to be paticular and only got blue fescue, well after bare spot and no growth I just keep throwing out any kind that I can grab as long as its green I don't care lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Sorry, no idea on the mushrooms. I am not familiar with those. I assume they are edible, so you could always saute them in a little garlic butter or use them as you would button mushrooms.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Trina, low-fat cottage cheese!!!

Moon, You don't think I could start them now and grow them in the house? I read somewhere that they might not bloom the first year. So I thought I could get a head start.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Thanks for the remedies I am making a list
Taking laptop to the kitchen

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, are those the inky mushrooms? If the are, my mother cooked them. I don't recall eating them though. lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Yes,Ma'am, if you have room for them and can give them good light and consistent temperature, you can absolutely start them now.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I have no idea what they are.
The guy who gave them to me couldn't remember what they were called . He just said a friend of his sells them and gave him more than he needed. DH had shared his morrels so he was returning the favor.
I figured my DH would know so I didn't ask the guy how to cook them.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Venice, I have cone flower seeds ect. I'm gonna wait until spring and put them out after last frost.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

JJ, mushrooms to me are like poke salad, it grows in your yard but I have no desire to eat either one.
