Has anyone heard of a teardrop plant?

Newark, NY

hello everyone , my brother had what he called a teardrop plant, it dried up and he put it in his closet for the winter , brought it out in spring , it was like a bulb of some sort, watered it and it grew to about 4 ft pretty quickly and quite full. Each evening if you looked at the plant there was a teardrop of water hanging from the tip of each leaf on the whole plant.
I have googled this to no avail and was wondering if anyone here knew the plant or where i could get one , (his died) he lives in Canada and it was a houseplant

I looked at the pic , this is not the plant, the plant was about 4' high and quite full about the size of a potted hibiscus but with different leaves and the leaves came to a point and they would have a fair size water drop on the each of them most of the time...

I wonder if it was a Kalanchoe, one is commonly called "Mother of Thousands" because little teensy baby plants form (and look sorta like teardrops) all along the leaves of the mother plant. Did it look like this: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&source=hp&q=images+of+mother+of+thousands+plants&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=hK-vStyONcmQtgfrusn1Bw&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1
