I am calling this one Blue Shibori Henka. I am seeing forming pods on this one! Yay!
Morning Glories 2009 #15
I took a really good look at my vines. Diluted Fuji no Muraski has no growing seed pods on it anywhere. This is worse than the first growout this past Spring. NONE! Nadda. Grrr ... all those blooms and no pods. Looks like I am going to have to try crossing it. Not sure which other vine I will use. I am going to have to think about this...
Here is Sazanami. Only two seeds pods still forming after all those blooms. Crossing is not working with this one at all unfortunately. :-( This will be a Spring grow-out for me in the hopes that I can promote seed production at that time. Doesn't look like I am going to get but a couple of seeds from it this Fall. What a bummer!!!

Jackie - Your Wedding Bells is really lovely! Does it stay open most of the day or just the morning?
You have been having "cooler" temps this summer? It's been just the opposite here. Hot, hotter, and hot as you know what! LOL!
I think your vines liked the cooler temps, Jackie, because you have sure gotten some nice blooms this season.
My Wedding Bells died from too much rain. I have a few pods that might make it ok.
Karen
This was WB first day to bloom. I checked and it was still open at
2:15. Cloudy and rainy here for 10 days and more rain on the way.
I noticed my potted WB doesn't like to be wet. Hope I don't lose it.
Here's a photo of my vines (Diluted Fuji no Muraski and Sazanami) showing the dying flower pods. Either they aren't getting fertilized or something else is happening that the pods dry up and drop off the vines.
Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? Do you think it is a sterile vine issue or something else? I have other vines growing in other containers and those are producing lots of seed pods. But about half of my vines aren't. I am clueless as to what is going on ...
You can see what should be forming seed pods. They get bigger, then turn yellow and drop off the vine like the one pod in the forefront.

Jackie - I noticed that most of my "wild" mgs do not like to stay wet. They seem to actually prefer more drought-like conditions. I guess that is why they are wild. They can survive and thrive in dry areas.
This is Sazanami wanna-be seed pods. These will turn yellow and drop. Two seed pods at the very bottom of this vine and that is it. :-(
It is so hot out today that when I went outside to take some photos, my glasses and camera lens fogged up. It is miserably hot and humid today. My A/C is set at about 78-79 degrees. Rather warm indoors as well. I can't wait for some cooler weather. I am tired of this life-draining heat!
Jackie - Do your WB get full sun all day or just sun part of the day. I am wondering if they would stay blooming most of the day here in this heat, too?
Jackie - I am impressed with your results of the WB cultivar. I will definitely be growing a seed out next Spring! Thanks for the information you have shared here with all of us! A truly beautiful blooming MG!
Your Rosy Red Picotee reminds me of the Scarlett O'Hara that I grew over the winter. Here is a photo taken back in May of my SOH.
