The leaves on my coneflowers are turning black. I originally thought it was due to some unusually hot weather we were having. But we've had 2 weeks of more moderate temperatures and several days of rain and they look worse than ever. I've noticed the black seems to be spreading to some plants that weren't previously effected. Any solutions?
Help! My coneflowers are in trouble!
It sounds like you may have sooty mold caused by an infestation of insects, possibly white fly...they are every where this year, When you disturb the plant do you see a bunch of tiny white bugs? If so, that is white fly and you need a good insecticide to get rid of them. Here is some additional info.
