Passion Ivy
Pantera: Can you post a close up photo of your plant? I've googled and can't find any plant with the common name of Passion Ivy. I'm wondering if your plant could be Passiflora (common name "Passion Vine".)
There are many Passiflora listed in Plant Files. Does your plant get blooms and look anything like this? http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/124933/
Plantladylin

Pantera, I live in zone 5 and I grow my Passioflowers inside, as well as some clematis, and Jasmine, they require more water than everything else and fertilized more often, cause when you grow them in the house they don't have a "Dormancy" period. you need good support for it though as the vines do tend to get heavy, especialy if you have one that sets fruit.
I've never grown Passiflora inside, it's strictly a garden plant down this way. But, I think it should do okay if you have a sunny window. Here's the link to Plant Files with some general information for P. incarnata : http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1189/
If it dies back, no worries ... in spring if you start watering it should re-sprout. They are deciduous and will go dormant in winter. If you read the comments at the bottom of the Plant Files page, someone in Ontario Canada reported that they planted it in their garden and it came back in spring.
In Canada? A friend keeps telling me I can plant these outside here too...but I'm not willing to chance it. I might take some cuttings and plant them next year and see how that works
Well this is the one from last year , It died and didn't come back so a nother 80.00 dollars spend this year . Why can't i keep it alive .
I will water it more plus fertilze it more this time. thank you (Trinawitch)
and thank you plantladylin
Oh my goodness, $80.00?!! Wowsers, is it a special cultivar of Passiflora? I know our Home Depot had large ones in 3 gal pots this past spring for $12.98!
You should take trinawitch up on her offer!
i don't get the $80 either cause she says hers is Passiflora x belotii....I think I paid $4 for mine and its Massive....even if she threw them away every year I could still send her starts...I think someone at the nursery saw her coming...ticks me off whe they take advantage just cause they can
I live in Laurel DE. my home depots do not have anything different so I go to this place in MD ,I pay 40.00 a plant in maybe it was a 10gal. not 80.00 for one . I buy two for each side of steps on my pourch . But yes if i can buy a rooted starter that is from a inside plant I will be very happy . Thank you so much . Do you think that is why because it has been out side for so long? Now if I leave it out all winter it will come back?
Thanks again everyone
BIG SMILE
