You know I saw a wooley bear caterpillar yesterday but didn't investigate it's 'rings'. lol
I'll have to take a walk out in the field to see how high up the bee's have build their nest this year. Doesn't tell me how cold it will get, but gives me a good idea of how much snow to expect!
have never heard about bees building a nest based on the winter's snow fall?

My DGF would always check out the hives.....if low to the ground, it will be a mild winter in terms of snow fall. Nest up high in the tree's.....expect lots of snow. I should say these were hornet's nest and it is by all accounts just an old wives tale. But im not positive, nest were up VERY high the year before last and we got 113" of snow. ^_^

Last Sat. morning I got up at 5 am because of the wedding. It was 28 degree's when I got up and this is what my Hydrangea City Line looked like.
It didn't bloom this year anyways, but boy it looks ugly out there now! lol

Yikes, it's October! It's pretty chilly here....looks like 34 on the thermometer out there.....no snow, but I forgot to go pick the green tomatoes to ripen in the window. Have an invigorating day everyone!!
