We came from here. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1034219/
Everyone is looking forward to seeing everyone else's birds from near and far. Here's a shot of Dad Osprey coming in for a landing a few days ago.
Nanny, we cross posted. How about re-posting your Bluebird pic from the last thread so it's not missed?
Daily pics #243
Really nice shot Margaret! He is so handsome.
Thanks for starting the new thread!
Look at those talons! Reminds me of the claw foot furniture legs. Gorgeous guy.
Today I had a bunch of birds around my feeders, lots of house finches and sparrows, Cardinals, one Tufted Titmice, and couple of Blue Jays, one Eastern Towhee (female), to name a few.
Here's one of my digi-pics - a male house sparrow. 26 yds distant.

Good digi-pic of the sparrow, Hack.
Well, in my lifetime, I have come across a lot of human cuckoos but, on Sunday, I got a photo of my first bird cuckoo ..... a 'Yellow-billed Cuckoo'. I had to be lucky this time of the year because they will migrating to South America soon. I heard them all summer long but never saw one until yesterday.
Wow those goldfinches really are starting to change colors. Up here too.
Okay Linth, I KNEW someone would call me on the Downy and suet feeder. I was pretty sure it would be Margaret though! LOL.
Turns out the picture in the best focus was when she looked UP!

Yikes! Thanks for the ID but maybe not something to be happy about! No wonder the fishing is so bad.
Nice shots everyone!!
Gorgeous shot Margaret!
I have got to get a better camera:) But, I just have to share my photo of a Vermilion Flycatcher. He stuck around for a long time, but never got close enough for my camera to get an excellent photo. I spotted this guy in an extremely rural setting in Hamlin, TX, an hour North of Abilene.

wow missy! nice selection!
Missy, That is a nice selection! Your very lucky!
Burn, Love the Flicker!
I had been worried about how the gallinules had faired this year. During the main nesting season there was seismic testing for CO2 gas. The testing company had placed charges right through the middle of the marsh. I was there right before they blasted and the airboats had been all through the grasses. I wondered how many nest had been destroyed. I guess some birds must have renested late because some very young birds were present today.
