Everyone - I've got my finger's crossed that it produces LOTS and LOTS of seeds to share around. This is one we want to keep going!!!

I also would like to give it a more fitting name. I am thinking about renaming it "Sarah's Fuji no Muraski" or "Quaintcharm's Fuji no Muraski" or something else nice like that. I don't really like the name "diluted". LOL! Though that is an accurate description of the blooms. Any ideas? I do think Sarah deserves credit for this one since she discovered it! What do ya all think?

Becky your blooms are absolutely stunning. I'm glad that you got something from silver shadows and enjoying the blooms of mauve splash. I think the fertelizer will help with more blooms.

Hi Becky,
No, my only seed from the Diluted No Murasaki never really took off. After it germinated the vine grew just under a foot tall and died. It started out as a kind of "dwarf" with extremely dark green leaves. Nothing like the mother vine. If you get enough seeds, I would love to have a couple .

Hi Becky,
I appreciate the thought . Naming it after me would be an honor, but I know it was EmmaGrace's first. Maybe someone on the MG forum will think of a good name that fits. I'm just glad that it is being grown by you and others, and maybe some seeds will come out of it.

Helena, Beautiful blooms. Love the ChaCha Maru and your FS/
Blue Star cross. The pink in above post is a beauty.
Becky, since you hand pollinated inside on the Fuji no Monet, that's for sure what you have. My Fuji no Beni is much darker than the pink
no Monet. Since they are all Fuji's, I'm sure there are similiarities

Your mutant vine from Sarah is gorgeous Becky, I hope you get tons of seeds,
My vine is fine but still in a 3 and 1/2 in pot. I have a seed pod forming from my one bloom
but see at least 5 more buds. I'm going to move it up one size to try to
extend my bloom time and increase the seed production. I did not hand
pollinate yet but will try with the next bloom.

Sarah - I wonder if Emma got her seeds for the Fuji no Muraski from Parks Seeds. They sell a Morning Glory Mt. Fuji Mix that is outstanding and I have heard that some of the vines throw mutant blooms. Karen posted a photo in PlantFiles that looks similiar in color to the Muraski: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/113093/ I am thrilled that my F1 came true! :-) I will definitely send you some seeds from mine! Thanks again for sharing what few seeds you got with me! :-)

Jackie - You are right about the Fuji no Monet. It was hand-pollinated indoors as it was a Winter grow-out. I have already shared a few seeds with others and they too had white and pink blooms as well. This is an interesting cultivar. It will be an experiment to see if either the white or pink will produce the purple in the F1 or F2 seeds. It's amazing how many different variations of Mt. Fuji there are out there!

Helena - Thanks! I will get some fertilizer to those vines. It rained today, so I didn't get outside to fertilize yet. There is always tomorrow afternoon. :-)

gardenpom - You had a very photographic day! :-) Love all your beautiful blooms. I am particularly fond of the duo photo! I love those colors! You really make these blooms look so surreal. A wonderful perspective from your camera lens! :-)
