what are the green balls on the canna's after they have flowered.

what are the green balls on cannas"
Debi, those green balls are seed pods. Some of the green balls don't develop seeds though. The seeds look like black peas. If the balls turn brown and you can peel away the husk and have seeds, you're in business. I finally got some canna seeds to sprout this this year. This spring, I sanded the seeds, and then I soaked them for about 2 days. I waited and waited for the seeds to sprout and gave up on them and planted some small seedlings in the pot. I looked at the pots about 3 weeks ago and I've got baby cannas .
I've actually gotten quite a few seeds off of my beautiful pink cannas.Hopefully the seed will do well in the spring
sandy
thank you.
