The Maidenhair Fern that Bec gave me is doing wonderfully. I hope it survives the winter.

This is Hydrangea Limelight. The blooms are different shades of green throughout the blooming season. Now it's getting some pink tones.

Here's an oddity. This DL is called Fiery Moment. I just bought this and planted it in Mid August. All of the foliage had been cut down to 4" and it had no bloom stalks.

Consider every flower picture you post a flower for the "doc". I surely enjoy the pix on this site.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Srormy, The aster you swapped out is enthusiastic to say the least, we got one from our greenhouse club last year that is the same. I didn't know kudzu came is purple aster. LOL
Your Spigelia Marilandica and Buddleia Davidii are beautiful, such variety you have. Ric

Ric, I have so many different growing conditions here. Dry shade, damp shade, dense shade, bright shade, part shade, full sun, part sun, rich soil, poor soil, windy spots, acidic soil, alkaline soil, aliopathic trees. It takes a diverse plant group to thrive in those conditions. There's always a lot of plant moving going on around here too.

Doc, that is such a nice sentiment. Pleased to oblige!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Stormy, you have a lot going on there, looks great.

Dahlia from Ric and Hooly swap, I think from Wind??? 6" across...I had to cut it and bring inside

Jen, I've never seen a white cosmos. That's lovely. Where did you get it?

Jen, Beautiful Dahlia.
Here is a little tour of my lamppost bed.
There are purple Asters, Sweet Cream Marigolds, a smaller orange marigold, white alyssum, white begonia and Coleus.

Here is a better and closer look at those Sweet Cream Marigolds.

Moving around to the other side, most notable is the Karalee Petite Pink really stands out with the red stems and pink blooms. There are two different sedums blooming now you can just see the white blooms of the varigated stonecrop growing thru the aster. The pinker/mauve blooms of the Autumn Joy stonecrop.

One of the clematis in this bed is still putting out a few blooms.

Holly, That bed is really looking great. Did you move that beautiful orange Mum that was there last year? Is the white Allyssium perennial?

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

I love this pretty rusty colored Coleus peaking out from under the aster, there is a mix of purple and white alyssum, yellow begonia, Mexican heather and burgundy chrysanthemum

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

We lost that orange mum it didn't survive all the upheaval of that bed. Next year I will be removing most of that purple aster and I am planing to put another orange mum in there along with a white one. They should look great with what is left of the purple aster and the burgundy mum. The Allyssium is an annual I got it this year as plugs from my HGHA Co-op. I really like it and use it in a lot of my beds. Here is a closer pic.

Here is a close up of that yellow begonia.

This is a close up of the Mexican Heather and a nice coleus planted in that bed. The MH was another of my HGHA plugs. I really like it, blooms nice and has a very interesting shape Next year I will have to decide where to plant it as I think my plants got a bit lost in the beds they were planted in. I think they would make a very nice border plant.

Holly, It all looks so nice. I can see why you like that Heather & Allyssum. The Aster will keep giving you new plants to move around the yard. It is so nice to have things in their color range blooming this time of year. People who have no luck with Mums should consider trying Asters.

What beauties!!!
Here is my Autumn Flowering clematis.... still not fragrant, this is the 2nd one I have tried. But it is a great looking display.

Thanks Stormy, I'm pretty happy with this bed, I have a bit of tweaking to do but all in all I think it is comming along nicely. Here is the end of this tour a peach colored begonia and african daisies. The african daisies were show stoppers last year they bloomed all summer long and were the last of the fall flowers to give up the ghost. This year they were pretty disappointing just a few blooms here and there.

LadyG that sure is pretty. I would love to have a white fall blooming clem. I had hoped to add one to the lamppost bed but the one I had been interested in grows much too big for my lamppost. I will have to do some more searching.

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Hey lady, Glad you checked in. Lady, that vine is beautiful. There's a house near here whose shrubs and fence are covered in it. I've often thought of knocking on the door and asking what it was.

Holly, that's a great combination. Osteoporum is one of my favorite annuals. They like it really dry and very sunny. When I used to grow them, the blooms wouldn't open on cloudy days. I think yours did not like the weather this summer.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

You might be right Stormy I was really disappointed after last years wonderful show. My Arum has come back up and is looking good. Here is a shot of the wall bed. The impatiens in this bed got huge. I really like the color combos in this area. Heucherella Tapestry and I think Ginger Ale, The Arum is coming back up you can just see the leaves coming out of the Euphorbia Diamond Frost. That DF really filled in that area nicely when the Arum leaves died back and left just the red berry stems. Those purple pansies were a real surprise they have been growing and blooming all summer long. LadyG some of those Coleus along the back probably came from you. I think their color really blends and pulls all the colors together.

LOVE that last shot!

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Holly, that bed is looking really nice. Yes, I can see the Arum leaves. Some of mine have shown up now very nicely. The berries lasted a long time this year. Maybe I have fewer voles eating them this year. Did you plant the Arum as one clump or did you break it up?

This was a great year for Impatiens. Mine also got hugh. I like the colors in that bed. Pansies are always so happy looking, but most of mine didn't do well this year as they were planted in some of my drier spots.

Thanks Jen.
WOW Stormy, That looks great! I just love that monkey, too.

Holly, not so sure those coleus in your last shot are mine, but then again sometimes the area they are planted in will change the color. I think the one in post 7092952 is Sedona, I think you got that from me.
In the day time that clematis is buzzing with bees. Good thing they go to bed at night as my hot tub in on the other side of the lattice work.

When I was in Holmes County this Saturday the Motel/restaurant we ate dinner in has plantings of Blue saliva, Pink geraniums and white alyssum in front of a white picket fence. Very fresh and clean looking. I was sorry I did not take my camera but I was on a shopping mission.

I have to check on my Ramona to see if it is reblooming for me.

Cheating or taking creative license? This is just pretty cool pic that I found in my veggie folder, onion flower head, can't say for sure its a Sept bloom LOL

This caryopteris is always a welcomed sight at this time of year.

That is pretty, Roses! I'm appreciating blue flowers more these days.

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Sally, Your onion photo is really neat.

Roses, Your Caryopterus is lovely. Both the foliage and the blooms are beautiful. I have one, but it's not as pretty as yours.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

very pretty RRR.... glad I took that piece from you!

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

OK, Guys!!! I am all set!!! New higher speed "C" with more bells and whistles. He built the "C" from all the components himself. He loves doing this kind of stuff. Total cost to me--$260.
Besides, Mark (my SIL) put everything on discs to save it all and then put everything back where it was supposed to be.
Scanned everything for viruses and it all came out clean. Whew......

Lets hope this is the end of those 100's of virus warnings and random disconnecting several times a day.
It is SO good to have him do all this--he loves it!

SO! Now that I have uploaded all my pictures I was saving on my cameras--I will post a few of my September blooms.

My Brugs are going gang-busters again....Here is the Rose Souvelons one-by the shed. My S.E.M. and the Brug are "close buddies".....teee...hee....
