Why is it, whether you sit up or sit down, the result is the same?
Thought for the Day!

Oh, and PS----would "hanging chad" then refer to those addicted to vines?

This thread is hilarious.
The teflon thing has baffled me for years, too.
In that same vein, "Why don't they make the REST of the airplane as strong as the Black Box ??? "
My mom had a ton load of cookbooks, recipe cards, etc...yet she NEVER made anything but the same 9 or 10 meals for eons. What was that all about ?
I definitely fit every description of someone afflicted with a terminal case of CHAD.

This is the best thread to read in the morning! Marie, where do you get these? I love them!
"Hanging chad" - good one, Ima!
I've got to talk to my mom about this CHAD thing. It seems she doomed me to a life of suffering when she named me . . . Chad. People will think I am stuttering when I sit down and say "Hi, my name is Chad and I'm a CHADaholic."
See, folks? Be careful what you name your kids! ^_^
Still laughing over here!
I've pondered for awhile, and think that most people like to see me.
I know I've seen an annealing process (?) where the teflon is coated on the pan on the Discovery Channel.
Now JD has me wondering, Why don't they make the rest of the plane that strong?
JD, she was probably overwhelmed and it was just easier to make the same meals. I knew people who had the same meal on the same day of the week. I knew not to show up for dinner on Thursday, because it was always Meatloaf. Wednesday, was always spaghetti, and Sunday it was always Chicken. Don't remember the rest of the weekly Menu.
Thank you Ima, it's been haunting me, but now I know. I have IMI. At least it's a song I like.
Hanging Chads could be hanging plants, and not just vines.
GardenSox, way too funny. Now even the cat thinks I'm strange. ROTFLOL!
If it was a CHAD support group wouldn't they know you have CHADS? Never mind, I liked it your way, hopefully they wouldn't think you were being sarcastic and probably a plant swap would ensue. LOL!

I bet there's an herbal remedy for CHAD just waiting to be discovered. We should all go out and buy some herbs for experimenting . . . and maybe a few plants too. And some pots to put them in. And maybe a tree or two to go with them.
excellent idea...and some vines (or hangers), too! Would this treatment be considered immersion therapy, as opposed to aversion therapy?
I think CHAD is genetic...some family lines are more susceptible to it...recessive in some, dominant in others...
How many of your relatives have said to you at one time, "Oh...you're just like Uncle so and so or aunt what's her name...she LOVED plants and gardening..."
JD - in our house, it was probably my dad who stopped any innovation in the kitchen. He was even skeptical when I learned to make applesauce in Home Economics!
I probably inherited the gene from Dad, but it was Pop Erickson who encouraged me to grow more than veggies. : - )
Come from a long line of farmers and went and married one. Go figure. I think my Dad's generation left the farm asap. Dad said he got tired of looking at the south end of that mule.
Mom's parents met while picking cotton.
Definitely genetic disorder. Dad had it bad. Passed it along to me and sibs.
I vote for immersion therapy! LOL!

Maybe it should be SUBmersion therapy, with water lilies and other pond flora.
I remember my mom being perpetually horrified at the sad condition of her mother's house and fingernails. But we always had yummy fruit, veggies, lilacs and roses from grandma's garden. She had a clump of lovely chives year-round in a sheltered spot in her little yard in Denver, along with the BEST rhubarb, pie cherries and bush beans. Her small veggie garden was bordered with bricks set on an angle.....gee, can you guess where I got MY gardening interests???? Thanks for percolating those memories to the top of the pile!
I'm blessed with a son who's always been interested in gardening, even if he didn't have time or space to do much about it. Right now he has 2 patio containers that are very healthy & beautiful accents, and that's a great start!
I've been blessed my whole life by being bracketed by a mother who taught me the love of gardening and a son who took it to the next level and got a college degree based on his love of gardening. And now I'm finally able to make a living as a gardener. I have achieved success.
I'm doubly blessed as I have the companionship of thousands who are just as insane about it as I, right here on DG.
Dear all....................
Could not resist saying .....You are definately a carrier imapigeon! I got my CHAD from my DAD. Though it remained dorment for many years due to inactivity in the area described. This syndrome is now in full force in my life, guess it's because I love it so much and actually embrace it. What could possibly be better than having an abundance of lovely green and colorful thing in ones life. This year we decided to let our dying "lawn" die. Plant fruit trees and tomatoes. When the tomatoes die, the lovely morning glories can take over the front yard as we decide what else CHAD will bring into our front yard.
Blessings to all and pray that your your "disease" will be incurable and joyfull, as mine is!
Sylvia

Good morning everyone. I probably won't be on early Saturday, so I'm posting a late edition on Friday. I'm sure we all remember where we were 8 years ago and what we were doing. That entire week was like a blur on the one hand, but branded into our collective memories on the other. With that in mind.......
Saturday Thought for the Day:
Live every day as if it were your last, because one of these days you will be right. ----
Have a great weekend DP. I'm loving the thoughts of the days!!!
Dear all.................Today at work I just remembered one of my favorite quotes, don't know where it came from, but love, love it as I get so old I can hardly believe it,....Heres the quote: " The older I get the older old gets" My DM ( who died 6 years ago at age 94) was a perfect example of this as into her 80"s she referred to the folks at the senior center as the old folks.
Blessings to all,
Sylvia
I love that one Sylvia. I think we all feel that way. 30 years ago, I certainly didn't think of 50 as being 'young'. Now, however.......
Being Sunday, I think this is an appropriate sentiment. I remembered a Bible passage when I saw the quote I'm posting today. The passage is Revelations 3:15 & 16.
15 ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 ‘So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. (that was Jesus talking)
Sunday Thought for the Day:
A compromise is an agreement whereby both parties get what neither of them wanted.
Bonus Thought:
You have the right to remain silent....but do you have the ability?
