Debra, If I get seeds from my Drac, will save you some. Mine is
blooming late this yr but if I have too, will g house it to get my
seed pods.
Helena, maybe the cooler weather is messing with our blooms. I'm
still waiting on my Lady Laura to bloom. Love both of your blooms
Karen great blooms, esp the blue Fuji no Monet, so pretty.

Another Drac bloom. My Drac on the fence opened a flower yesterday.
so hopefully will yield some extra seeds for sharing.
This is the one in a pot.

Karen, thanks, I've got to find Deb's post of this one to see what it's supposed to look like

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Becky asked me if I was partial to the pink blooms. For a long time, I just didn't have any pink blooming seeds.
So this yr I would say I've made up for the shortage. lol

Joseph's unknown blue this morning. It reminded me of my
lovely Yaguruma Blizzard from last yr.The color was very similiar
as captured in this photo.
Agreeing with Ronnie, it was a lovely pic Karen.

Pretty one Jackie!!

Your welcome Jackie, I'm glad you like it. Their nice blooms and picture, don't know if they came true or not but I also envy those healthy leaves.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

WOW! Look at all the flowers! They look fabulous! Really nice blooms on those vines, Ladies!

Jon - Sorry to hear about your camera! That's a real bummer for sure! I hope you find a new one that you really like!

Karen (bluespiral) - I haven't seen any blooms from you this year. What have you got growing in your garden?

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

This one is supposed to be white w/pink rays, or so the trade said. I don't remember where it came from but I like it!!

I really like the old camera (not so old) Nikon D40x so I'm going to try and have it repaired. Just seems like
I'm having a bad time right now Becky.

Jon

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Jon - How much damage was done to your community? Were the rice fields destroyed? And does your yard and garden beds look better today or have more plants died? I am so sorry to hear of all the bad luck that has hit you lately. :-(

I am superstituous and always believe bad news comes in threes. Mostly that is in deaths. My Mom, my cousin, and then my uncle all died within 3 months of each other this year. Kind of freaky. Of course, something like bad weather is not so much a superstition, but an act of God. So ... it doesn't count. LOL!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Ronnie, Helena and Becky.
Ronnie, Love the beautiful purple in post ending #476

Gautier, MS

Oh my goodness I'm having a time with these sprint pop ups on every thread I opened !!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty blooms everyone!

Akatsuki No Umi opened today.

Becky, they are bringing in the rice right now, no figures on how much may have been lost.
Fortunately they had already started to harvest in this area last week, so hopefully not too bad.
I have spent the last two days working in the garden, some plants I have replaced as there are
still plenty in the garden shops. Lots supports and props and some things seem to have made
a complete recovery, the S.E corner was the most damaged, the whole thing looks more like
a garden now! My camera has gone off to Nikon for service and possible repairs.

There is another typhoon that looks to be coming towards us, too early to tell for sure, if it
does I'm quitting. LOL

Luvs and Helena, I love the purple and the blue with the white throats. The white throats always seem to make the colors look brighter somehow. I love All the ones posted here and the people too. I love everybody though I`m not a hugger until you get to know me better. I`m more on the shy side.

Jon stay safe!

Karen I love that and would trade for it if you have seeds!!

Hopefully in another month or so I will have my trade list ready. The weather here is nuts...down into the 50s a couple of nights already. I'm so not looking forward to the season coming to a close!

Baton Rouge area, LA(Zone 8b)

All of you are welcome to have some of my mailbox mix flower seeds this fall. I will have plenty of pictures and seeds of quite a lot of variety going on out there!

Helena, Great no Umi bloom, stunning blue

Karen, sweet mailbox flowers.

Blue Blizzard. My blooms still variable

Patootie, That is Ukigumo and it has a progressing blizzard going to almost white some of the flowers. Very cool you have that one!!!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Karen, thanks for explaining that to me. Cool indeed.
I'll change the name tag.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I am so pumped since I planted the Ukigumo from BlueSpiral and the Akatsuki No Umi from her as well..and some from X also.. ( along with the wedding bells)

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Jackie - I am glad to see someone growing Dracula this season. I always liked that vine and bloom! I am sure that Antoinette would be pleased to hear that it is still growing true from future generation seeds. She did good when she created that hybrid! :-)

Karen - Nice job on your hybrids! Impressive colors and patterns on those blooms!

Jackie - The Blue Blizzard that Karen believes is "Ukigumo" were labeled Blue Blizzard when the seeds were sent to me. I believe I got my seeds originally from Shawna who got them from Onalee's in the original unopened Japanese seed packs. :-)

I moved all my large 5 gallon containers closer to my backdoor. I actually removed all the Cowpen Daisies as they were on their last leg. So my 3-tiered bed is now empty. So that is where the containers are now with my current grow-outs. Well .. I've misplaced my sheet of paper that tells me what location each vine is in relative to that garden bed and who I got them from. Grrrr ...

So ... this is a new one. Not sure what it is or who it came from ...

I think this one is an F1 grow-out from my Diluted Fuji no Muraski. As you can see, these 2 blooms aren't showing the diluted trait, but they are showing split petals. Go figure!

And the final one is the Henka from Japan that Dany shared with me.

Becky your blooms are so pretty. I love the form on that Henka...

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Love the large purple Becky, what a beauty.
I'll just hold up on changing the name on Blue Blizzard/Ukigumo
I remember someone told us that the Japanese growers would
give them different names knowing they both had the same blooms.
Wish I had started my Henka too, yours is very pretty

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Thanks Debra and Jackie!

You will appreciate this little story ...

I was coming around the block to my street. The corner lot as you turn onto my street is vacant and overgrown. I saw this animal standing half-way out of the over grown weeds that looked like a large cat. Caught my eye and I looked a little closer ... it was a Bobcat! It was all dirty. It's been raining a lot here and a lot of standing water in these vacant lots. Well, my guess is the rat population is providing food for the Bobcat as well as the Hawk and snakes! LOL! I figured that all the building going on over the past 10 years ran all the Bobcats off, but apparently not! I expect to see a fox or two next! I haven't seen either in years until now! Who would ever guess this was a neighborhood with houses everywhere? LOL! I am glad to still see these beautiful wild animals! They are hanging in there trying to survive in developed areas! It's a rarity to catch a glimpse of one ...

Becky, such a shame that progress has destoyed their habitat.
Really bothers me that land isn't set aside to provide a refuge for
our animal friends. Or not enough land has been earmarked
for them.

Tokyo, Japan(Zone 10a)

You may like to know that "henka" means change or varied.

Tokyo, Japan(Zone 10a)

Urbanised wild animals are not always a good thing as they tend to scavenge on the wrong kinds of food,
giving them health problems.

Jon

Baton Rouge area, LA(Zone 8b)

Patootie, I take that back about the Ukigumo. Your trader is a more reliable opinion. I don`t know why I thought you didn`t know what they were. They do favor Ukigumo a awful lot but that doesn`t necessarily mean that is what they are. Karen

North of Atlanta, GA(Zone 8a)

we've had some problems with wild animals attacking household cats or dogs.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

So Ukigumo may change then from bloom to bloom?
We have bobcats here in the new developed areas, they hang out in between the built and the going to be bulldozed flat wilderness.. which is where I go to see alot of wild flowers, that will never be again, because all our land is being developed here, and when we moved here, there was just alot of country and natural wild life .. there was a deer across the street last fall.
Oh, and prolly the pandurata has been mowed and dozed.. , by progress around here..
