Steve, I have just discovered that you are a literary wonder! You MUST pursue this talent as well as your loving and caring for animal creatures.
THE ROUNDUP PARTY'S OVER!!! :(
I have been knocked off the wireless here at my hotel. So until repairs I must retire.
Expert packing Tilly!
Steve, you really do describe these gardens in a poetic way.
......
But, I absolutely do not share your desire to snuggle up with slugs. :)
Gwen - the pink houseplant (post # 7009772) looks like Justicia carnea - they are from Brazil. Commonly seen & drop-dead gorgeous - they get much bigger than they do here.
Yes, that's it. Pixy identified it for us but I couldn't remember what it was called. Thanks!
A great big thank you to all of you who blessed us with your company. It was the best weekend I have ever spent. I really appreciate all of the hard work you all put into making this a fun event for everyone. Gwen, you are an awesome cook!!! Thank you so much for the delicious appetizers. Julie and Sharon, the chili was my favorite ever. Joey raved about the quiche. I just can't list every yummy goody you made. There was so much good food, it makes me hungry to remember it all. 5 more pounds on the old rear end!!!!
Laurie and Jan, receiving your rocks was such a neat surprise. You are so considerate. I am looking forward to meeting you someday.
Thank you so much everyone for the lovely rocks and flowers. Each one is very special to me.
I am so sorry that I cannot post any more tonight. I wanted to personally address each person individually, will have to try again tomorrow. I have not felt well all day, and now I have a terrific headache, sorethroat, and am burning up hot. Geez, I cannot even structure a sentence.
I will post tomorrow.
Pony, I hope Traci is feeling better by now.
Oh no! I hope you feel better soon, Lynn!
(and Tracy is feeling quite a bit better tonight, thank you!)
Ah, the stress hormones have taken their toll on Lynn. Immune system overload. Rest and relax, Lynn. Drink plenty of good water, and get plenty of sleep, stay warm and dry. You've seriously overdone it and now your body is letting you know.
Cool collection of rocks you have there.
Soferdig waxes poetic again! I'm not sure about the whole 'gaggle of girls' thing, but possibly we were again admiring one of Sharon's magnificent begonias. She really has the touch.
Yes, the beautiful pink flower is Justicia. I had one growing in the garden a couple of years ago as an annual. Last year it came back from the roots and by the end of the year I had one bloom. I was totally taken aback and couldn't remember why it was there, then realized I'd planted it as an annual. They are really beautiful plants.
Tills, that is the best photo of the fish I have seen this year. I've had no good ones at all from my camera. That's just perfect!
Steve got a photo of the huge moss covered boulder! Isn't it fabulous???
Oh, Glad to read Tracy is better!

Yes, so glad Tracy is better!
And Lynn, rest, rest, rest. You've earned it.
The initial collection of photos is just wonderful. So nice to see everyone, and thanks for the names with faces - with Sofer's narration I can almost hear the rhubarbrhubarbruhubarb of the conversation. thank you Gwen for thinking of me - I have to say that as much as I would have loved to ship part of enland across the atlantic, my rock was constructed for me by our loving host - and she did a spectacular job of it - definately stamp approved (I did supply the stamp, but it was recycled from a previous attempted project - thank you to Sue for getting it there). And I have to thank Joey for the gift wrapping of my white elephant gift - I managed to send that over in glaringly obvious wrapping. I hope who ever ended up with it enjoys it.
And thank you Tills for being my voice and my gift-picker. Looking forward to the surprise.
Reading through all of this I just can't stop smiling - you are a marvellous bunch, and I do feel incredibly lucky to have stumbled my way into the thread. Thank you.
Glad to hear Tracy is feeling better.
Lynn, please take it easy and rest up. Hope you are back to yourself real soon.
So enjoyed Sofer's narration. I love that huge mossy boulder. Everyone's gardens reflect your locations and personalities. Just beautiful.
My rock also was provided by Julie. Thank you. I like 'hot' colors and she did it up for me. I appreciated being included into this great group.
Looking forward to more pics.
I am loving all the pics! It is amazing to see some of the things that people took pictures of in other gardens. The whole weekend was kind of sensory overload...like Pixy's garden....you needed to plop down in a chair and look for hours to really SEE everything!
Jan and Laurie, we were happy to have you there in spirit, and I was glad that I was able to make you a part of Lynn's PNW rock garden. Laurie...it was my DH rather than Lynn's that held your gift safe and made sure that it got there...and I have yours in my car waiting on sending off to you.
Gwen, as for organizing the pictures....YOU GO GIRL! I am anal that way too, and am so happy to relinquish that task to another! Your help and generosity has been fabulous!
Sopher, I am so enjoying your eloquent walk through the gardens...just fabulous!
Keep the stuff coming!
Oh gawd - this name thing is just tooooooo hard at a distance. I honestly think I need to shake hands with someone to really get the name right. I dooooo doooo appolllloooogize to all DH's for getting their names wrong. I'm sticking with DG names - Pix, Tills, RR, and MHF, sofer, rarejem just make so much more sense to me. Alas.
How did I miss that leaf planted up like that? Darn, now I need to go back!
Lynn, feel better soon.
Laurie....LOL...in person is so much easier as "Hey, You" works if nothing else!
I can see how it would be confusing. I'll go back and put dg names on my photo.
Hi everyone! Hope you don't mind me sticking my nose into the PNW Fourm. I sure miss that area, we lived in Brier for 17 years before moving back to AZ. Where is Lakewold? The photos are spectular! Aguane from the SW Gardening Forum pointed me in your direction. Your RU sounded terrific! You are a great bunch.
We have had to learn to garden in the land of weird rocks and clay soil, in the National Forest at 7,000', much different than in WA.
Have a wonderful week.
