He got a chuckle out of it, too. Even when he's knocked down, my Sweety keeps his sense of humor. :)
THE ROUNDUP PARTY'S OVER!!! :(
WOW! that would be a scare. Big hugs to you and Tracy to getting back to normalcy. I now have your recipe tucked away for future reference.
Kudos, Sofer for a job well done. Also for the collage. All the pics are great, so far.
Glad the tours were a delight. I MUST not miss one of these sometime. I'm looking forward to putting names with faces.
To everyone!!!!!!
Ohhhhhhh this looks so wonderful! MORE PHOTOS MORE PHOTOS! I love the big smiles I see! Looks a bit drippy but what the heck? On with the fun!
Top photo of the pooped out dogs should be titled:
"The Party Ain't Over Until the Last Dog is Down"...lol Looks like the dogs were partied out!...lol
Soferdig-
I kept trying to enlarge your collage photo to see MORE...(duh@me). I chuckled at "Man Cave"& "Girlie Greenhouse" and it sure says a LOT about the c-r-e-a-t-i-v-e greenthumb artist who made those areas. ,....toooo funny. Hope you took some close up photos. What is blooming with the big APRICOT colored looking blooms. Having SEEN the inside cargo of that one vehicle I think I GET IT now on what exactly a "round-up" is...lol Mega SHARING!
I have to go to work, or I'd be commenting on EACH PHOTO! I love the rock bed. Reminds me of a CA earthquake fault...lol
1pony
Soooooooo scary about your husband. Sure hope it all settles down for you. You do sound as tho' you took it in a wonderful stride. Life can sure be hard at times... at least you had wonderful support.
Laurie..
The PNW is wonderful, but our long gray winters can run some folks off. I was raised in San Francisco, so fog, drizzling skies and gray days are second nature to me. A day without fog...is like.....well........ ummmmm........night?...LOL
I so appreciate the photos...and I hope we get to see MORE. I wish we could put more then one individual photo on a post. That would be great! Is there a way to do that other the photoshop collaging like Soferdig did?
Ok...off to eat breakfast, and then get ready forthe MONDAY grind. Ugh...my desk was piled high on Friday when I left work 2 hrs late at 7:45 PM. This aint' gonna be pretty...
Sofer, I am surprised that you even woke up from your nap! Boy did you deserve one! Love the collage...can I ask what program you used to make it? I have been trying to find one that made it easy to group pictures together and have had absolutely no luck. I also loved your descriptions of Lynn and Joe's world! Perfect.
Highmtn....Yup, now you get the idea of the roundup....lots of sharing! Plants, seeds, and laughs....it was just great. I will have a little package coming your way from the group soon!
I will post this picture again, as it has quite a few of us in it and will put names with some of the faces. From left to right not counting John our tour gide: Azorina hiding behind the leaf, Katie59, Tillysrat, Katye, LynnWeidman, Gwendalou, Pixydish, Mauryhillfarm, Rachierabbit, Rachel's Dad Gary (Barnbuilder? I remember his real name but was not certain about his handle...sorry guys!), and PNWmountaingirl.
OK...will do it one more time WITH the picture....

It was a fabulous time, and so gratifying to meet people who I have gotten to know through print and pictures here in this forum. Huge thanks to Lynn, Sharon, Julie, Melissa and families for being so generous with your homes, gardens, time and energy to make this event wonderful for everyone. We felt warmly welcomed everywhere we went. And Kathy, I carried my poem/picture carefully home in my lap. It is absolutely precious.
I can't say all my new plants are in the ground, but a couple are. Dig, dig, dig, extract grass roots from planting area...then I can plant more, but have to go to work in a few minutes.
I'm working on downloading pictures. Here is one to start. Pixy's house by the pond. It is so beautiful and peaceful, everyone gravitates there. Sharon/PNWMountaingirl and Julie/Rarejem on the left and Melissa/Pixydish and Mary/Tillysrat on the right.
Wow, so many things to comment on and my brain is still a bit hazy, even after having a hard Sunday afternoon nap and a real night's sleep (except for the kids still digging varmits and barking half the night.) Fraid to see what flower bed was on their agenda last night.
Pony and Tracy, hope that all will be diagnosed as a non-recurring fluke from too much "Garden Party"! What a shock when we heard about it on Sunday morning! And so sorry you missed brunch, we were looking forward to your being here.
And Soferdig, you are indeed the hero of the day, and no doubt stilll an exhausted one!
Lynn and Joey your hospitality was wonderful. Thank you again for volunteering your place to gather.
Pixy, we got green with envy when we got to see your yard. Looking forward to more views at different times of the year.
Katie59 and Katye, sure wish you could have continued being with the group, but understand your needs to get back home.
Gwen, it was a pleasure to meet you, and thank you again for enduring the driving on Saturday.
Mary, the same about meeting you, and we are very much looking forward to your pictures.
Azornia, loved having you join us and thank you so much for the help around my house. And a special thank you to DH Carl for taking on so much kitchen duty.
And, of course, thank you dear daughter, Rarejem, for all of the help you gave in getting ready for the Sunday festivities.
Loved meeting all the rest of you, too, and am looking forward to more get togethers very soon.
I, also, had a camera in tow, but only got a few picutures, mostly on Friday evening before the chaos really got up to full speed. Here is one of the gathering then.
I will also post individual's pics once I get their permission as I have some pretty good shots.
From left to right, myself, Azorina and DH Carl, Lynn, Joey, Tillysrat and Gwendalou. Guess Rarejem took that shot.

Wow! this was a tough weekend waiting to find out what you all were doing and who made it to the RU.
I have been following different threads - recognizing names - and thinking that I am getting to know a few of you
But being from MN only puts me northwest of somewhere - I know that is a quote from one of you
So last night I was up 'til 2:00 am (or is that this morning) patiently waiting as some postings slowly came up
Sorry I know that you all are tired
I do hope all is well with Tracy and Pony - those hot tubs can be treacherous - I know - I did not pass out but very close to it
DH had me on the deck covering me with ice from the ice machine - so good luck with the doc appt - do hope that it was today
Well will sit and wait for updates and pics of the fun time it must have been
Maybe next year I might fly out and join you
Thanks for the well-wishing, everybody. Tracy is feeling somewhat better today, but still woozy and tired. He has a phone consultation with his doctor tomorrow, and an appointment with a neurologist on Thursday. The CT scan in the ER showed some blurriness that may or may not be anything to worry about, so we're getting it checked out. He has no history of seizures, so this episode with the convulsions etc. really took us by surprise. Scary stuff.
Looking forward to seeing more photos- I still can't believe I didn't think to take any myself. Sheesh.
Since everyone is chomping at the bit for photos.....I'll post a few. I didn't take too many. We sort of unofficially nominated Mary as photographer and relied on her. So you'll have to wait til she gets home from work! Also, most of my pics do not include people, which is probably what you want to see most. Sorry...
This is Pixy's garden. Always a delight. She is one of the most talented gardeners I know. Such an artist in the garden...
At Julie's garden. Let's see if I can figure these out...from left to right...
Tillysrat (Mary) in the black t-shirt with Pixy (Melissa) in pink behind her.
Linda in the white tank with PNWMountaingirl (Sharon) behind her.
Mauryhill's (Holly's) son in the back (sorry, I do not know his name altho I can tell you he's a really nice young man!), Lynn is in blue facing him and PNWMontaingirl (Sharon).
Mauryhill (Holly) is in red facing Linda and I believe that's Rachierabbie (Rachel) behind her.
Rachierabbit's (Rachel's) dad scratching his head in wonderment that we are all still talking about flowers after three days...
and Rarejem (Julie) with a huge smile on her face as she realizes the weekend is almost over and she can RELAX!
Okay, that's it for my photos. Tillysrat/Mary took tons (and when her camera battery ran out, she commandeered Mauryhill's/Holly's camera), and Rachierabbit/Rachel took quite a few too. There were lots of cameras in action, so I'm sure there will be lots more photos in the days to come.
It was an amazing weekend and sooooo much fun. Lynn and Joey were superb hosts, making everyone feel welcome and comfortable, their hospitality was such a gift (I now consider the upstairs bedroom mine, so just refer to it as "Gwendalou's Room" from now on); and PNWMountaingirl/Sharon and Rarejem/Julie outdid themselves organizing everything, cooking up and serving salmon they had caught, not to mentioned the most delicious fruit they brought over from eastern Washington. Hands down the best peaches I've ever tasted.
It was so fun to see the old friends and meet the new ones, altho some I didn't get to talk to as much as I would have liked. I loved that all the spouses joined in as part of the group and got along so well with each other and everyone else. Holly, I hope your son wasn't too bored. He was delightful and such a good sport!
A great weekend. And now I believe I have some planting to do...

Thanks Gwendalou that was fun!
Cabindweller--- Mom and I were thinking about you this weekend and wishing you were with us...you would have loved it.
I totally second Gwen's sentiments about being thrilled with the spouse and family participation, and the fact that it didn't take long at all for the whole group to seem like they had been friends for a long time, spouses included.
Pony--- Don, Mom and I are still sending all possible positive vibes in your and Tracy's direction. Glad he is feeling better, and hoping all the tests come back saying that it was probably just a one time freak thing!
Gwen--- Beautiful pictures! I am thinking that you will be busy planting for a while but loving every minute of it!
I am home, and still down loading pic. I was so mad that my Lap Top would not pick up the signal for wireless, 'Joey' Bless his heart tried to help with it, going to the shop to find out why. LOL I took about 400 Pics. I am going to show some and try to make a album on Picasa to share later.
Will be right back, have 3 chips to download. I am a nut LOL
Great pics! I feel like I know everybody, now.
Gwen, thanks so much for getting some of the photos out as I know it takes a lot of time (when you would like to be planting.)
My, oh my, your pics are so flattering that it looks like we would qualify for an article in Better Homes and Gardens. (As a matter of fact, perhaps a thought would be to really pursue an article for Sunset Magazine or some such. Don't know what DG's policy on such would be.)
And, Cabindweller, we sure would have liked to have shared this with you in person!
I'd love to be planting but I'm stuck inside cleaning today. I have family coming starting on Wednesday. I have the kitchen done and am now into the dining room. We use every flat surface possible to lay junk on so the biggest part of my cleaning is always putting things away. Or rather finding homes for things. So much to store, so little space. I need one of Julie's containers! Or a barn like Julie and Lynn both have. Man, those were big mothers. What I couldn't store with one of those puppies. We are such pack rats. We'd just fill it up in no time and whining for another.
Gwen, LOL! I cleaned up my house for roundup just in case someone went inside, and the most time consuming part of the cleaning was putting everything in my dining room away...garden books and notes everywhere, all of my seeds that were drying, electronic stuff DH has been working on fixing, etc etc etc. This may only be the second time this year I have seen my dining table! The shop is DH's storage area...my stuff isn't allowed inside but under special circumstances...and it is almost full to the gills! I think it was someone on this forum that said that "your amount of stuff will expand proportionately with the amount of room you have to store it".
I had the same idea as Mary with putting the pics on-line, but it was much easier for me as I didn't take very many.
Then I decided that it might be fun to set up a photobucket account where we could all store our roundup pics. This way, if someone wanted a close to full size copy of a picture (I have already seen some posted that I would love to have without the copyright!) they could just download it.
So I did it.
You can find the album I started here:
http://s1008.photobucket.com/albums/af204/pnwroundup/
and I will d-mail the login info to everyone who attended in hopes that some of you will be willing to add at least a few of your best group pics so we can all enjoy them.
O'Kay , I'm ready. Sorry it took so long, but I got a call from my mother. Things are not good but another time.
Julie Started this as 'The party's over' Love it
But the party's not over till the last dog goes home. First to arrive last to leave.
I have never had as much fun as this 2009 RU for PNW. It was totally, totally, out of this world. So many new faces to hang a tag on and those you have not seen in months.
I have never felt so at home, I love their place. I love all the places I have been.
Lynn, Sharon, Julie and I can not forget Mellisa LOL. You all opened your homes and gardens to us. I am so overwelled.
Saying "Not goodby, But come to my place"
Tilly, I do believe taking photographs while driving would be against the law, sort of like driving and talking on the cell except possibly worse! LOL
Julie, thanks for setting up the photobucket account. I almost have my dining table cleared off (still have to figure out where to put the seeds - we keep the dining room doors closed so it stays cool and fairly dust free in there so it's hard to find other places to put this stuff!), and when I get that room finished, I'll take a break and upload my photos to the account you set up.
You clean just like I do, Gwen. Although my final tactic before company arrives is to shove everything left over into my room and close the door. Thanks for your compliments about my son. He survived the weekend and was happy to have the opportunity to go shopping for musical equipment in Tacoma (amplifier and just the right tone of bell to add to his percussion set-up). As you know, being a fellow island dweller, we make the most of any excursion that takes us over the water to town, and if there is something someone wants there, they better come along.
Now for more pictures. I'll start with Lakewold. I loved the wild garden best. It was a magical place. following the mossy, fern draped path through twists and turns of woods, past streams. pools and little waterfalls, to several seating areas to rest and contemplate.
Going in under the moss covered arm of a tree.
Whoops, I missed the photobucket idea while posting. I might still do some more here and then put the rest on there if I figure it out.
