I love this time of year.
Nice picture Pixy
Feels like Fall
Thanks Jo Ann, been ankering for a apple pie lately. Must be the weather and the smell of them in the field.
My grandfather grew quite a few varieties on the dairy farm
He would pick and store them for family use and then sell the rest to Motts Company. The cellar smelled so good.
I still go to a cider mill just to get that memory.
Nice memories JoAnn! I've been thinking of apple pie too, and think it's from the crab apple trees I smell every morning on my walk. I think my dog eats a few off the ground as we go. Or at least sniffs them.
mornin Debbi
Cleaned up the garden after the typhoon, sure looks more like autumn even though it don't feel it!
Another typhoon on the way for Monday. Grrrr!
hunker down over there!
nice apple's celeste - have one granny smith tree in the ground for two winters no fruit or blossoms so far - neighbors have 5 apple trees just over the rodies so the bee's will be happy.

I've got a Granny Smoth too but it's to young to bear fruit yet.
Celeste, I bet it would be quicker to list what you don't have!! I'm envious!
GS is one of the few apples I don't like. My son likes them.
Try them with salt---that's how I eat them. I'm embarrassed to say I've lived here 30+ years & noticed for the first time today my next door neighbor has a russet apple! I was tracking the flight of a bird, & that's where it landed--the apples look great, but they are very high up. My old Bosc pear has fruit this year---no leaves, just pears.
That pear picture is going to be on my future paintings list.
What fun
It is an odd, photo, isn't it, Jo Ann--- that tree has probably been there 100 years! The pears are good--insects don't bother them---I make pear-cranberry pie, & pear marmalade.
Sounds yummy!
Thanks, Jumper---too bad you're not closer---it would prevent my DH from eating the whole pie!
