Feels like Fall

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

What is your sense of the season?
I have noticed the later rising of the sun and my appearance in the garden.
I love the quality of light in the early AM
Anyone else notice the changing season?

Actually last night, when I was not sweating in bed, I thought, Fall is coming!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

I noticed it was darker going to work this am. Fall is definitly on it's way.

Essex Junction, VT(Zone 4a)

You know things are changing when the cat/dog is hungry earlier than s/he should be. Quite your whining, it isn't time yet!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

It felt like fall in June! This was the freakiest weather year in my memory. I love the fall, except for the diminishing light.

Falmouth, ME(Zone 5b)

I agree... the diminishing light is the biggest bummer.... tomorrow it may hit 90 w/humidity and then Thursday night into Friday morning 40's w/ the days high of 60 something... very strange weather this year for sure!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Similar here. Upper 80's tomorrow, but mid-70's on Thu and Fri! Love that. Crappy forecast for Saturday and we're supposed to go to the Yankee game. Bummer.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Feels like fall because my son started school yesterday.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

DD starts tomorrow. I like fall, but it never really got to summer this year. Only about a week and a half of it.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Does anyone have a long range forcast?
Someone posted one last winter.
Some of it was correct, but there were a few that didnt come near the mark

Falmouth, ME(Zone 5b)

Didn't know if we are allowed to post links but check out the Farmer's Almanac...

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Yes we post links all the time, as long as its not self promotion its OK

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Long-range? They're lucky if they get tomorrow's forecast correct! Long-range 'forecasts' are just a random guess.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Just gotta start somewhere. Coleus cuttings are comming inside.
I hate to see the cold nights turn the containers to spinach.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I'll have to check the moon gardeners to verify the long range forecast!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I've mooned a few gardeners.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

You would... (lol)

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Not surprised.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

This am was first day it felt cool and dry to match the looks of the garden moving towards fall. Shorter days much more noticeable now too. Yuck. Heard there could be a frost warning for far northeast Maine tonight and tomorrow. I can wait for that to happen here several weeks thank-you. JoAnn that forecast looks pretty average, so how wrong can they get it, it's coming and we can't stop it. Me I just want a good dowsing for the garden, then I'm good for a bit. :)

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

right on

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Frost? already????

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Pansies & mums are being sold everywhere - next will be Kale. I detest the end of summer...

Troy, NY(Zone 5b)

Since the high today is 68 degrees I feel like fall is not coming; it is here.

I have to ask what happened to summer this year?

Falmouth, ME(Zone 5b)

Wish I knew bookreader....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Summer took a vacation this year.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

There was a summer...it was three weeks long. Almost unnoticeable I agree.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

After last week, I am welcoming the cooler weather.

Troy, NY(Zone 5b)

I live for hot and humid. I am one of the weird people that survives on heat and humidity. I am thinking Costa Rica for retirement. The hydrangeas there are fabulous!

Falmouth, ME(Zone 5b)

Love the hot... hate the humid... lol! I'm thinking..... Arizona for Jan-March.. I have a few years (if ever) before retirement, unfortunately...

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ugh - hate that weather! If it never went past 80, I'd be fine.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I'm totally with you Victor.

Essex Junction, VT(Zone 4a)

I third Victor

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

I with you on that!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Let's start an advocacy group!

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

please forward all unwanted degrees to the Seattle area. If we accumulate enough, we might be able to sustain an even 70°.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

I'll jump on the bandwagon, Victor, too.

Falmouth, ME(Zone 5b)

From what I read online.... AZ in Jan-March is 50's and 60's... sure as HECK beats Maine that time of year... I'll take it... As much as I don't like FL... I would take that in January... lol

Tokyo, Japan(Zone 10a)

90f here today with a typhoon forcast for Monday, no feelings of autumn here yet!
20 deg donated to seattle my pleasure!

(Zone 5b)

Katye I wish I had known you wanted extra degrees, I would have sent some last week when it was 90's & humid here, I could have sent you 10, 15 degrees a day ;)
Suddenly it's 60's at night....
