Tropical Garden # 49

Red Oak, TX

Planter56, could you be referring to the hardy hibiscus Lady Baltimore? If so, I could save you a few seeds for you to try again. I can't get Delphinium to grow. Thanks for showing yours, your perennial sunflowers are very pretty too.
This is a cluster of tropical plants in pots.

egg salad is not egg salad w/o chopped black olives. I never have less than 6 cans or jars of the stuff. That's why decided to get a tree though a little tree won't be enough for me. When I go to Sandy Oaks I plan to get one or two trees also. Don't know what kind yet. I'll study that close to trip time.

Hi Rita, your gardens are looking lovely :) Were those moths in your garden? I haven't seen any of the large silk moths in years. I really couldn't tell you if it was Lady Baltimore Rita, all I know is that it makes a very fast growing bush about 6 or so feet tall. If you want to save some seed for me, I'd appreciate it :) I'll see if I can get them to grow up here.

As for my Delphinium, I love the contrast of color between the deep blue color and the bright yellow of the prennial sunflowers and the, if you saw them, goldenrod :) hehehe. I let the goldenrod's grow in a few clumps in my garden. It's easy to keep them in line :)

Placenciarita, great photos of your garden. Thanks for saving me some var pepper seeds, I love hot peppers.

I thought he was one of those nasty squash bugs at first, until I enlarged the photo. How odd! I love his little bell bottom pants.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

we call them stink bugs....they can emit...umm..an unpleasant oder when disturbed

Red Oak, TX

vossner, I bet the olives from your home grown will taste much better than the store bought ones. I know that my guavas and papayas sure do.
I can't say the same for pineapples though, the ones I grew were so sour. I don't think I will try growing those again

Planter56, thanks, it is getting much harder to take pictures and not have the bad stuff showing like sun scald, spidermites and dead grass.
Those moths were in my garden. I do have a exceptional abundance of dragonflies, butterflys and hummers this year. It is strange when this year has been the worst gardening year ever.
I will have those seeds in the mail soon.

Sunshinesw, thanks. That is a very good picture of your Datura, I can see all 3 skirts.
I have picked your seed, and am just waiting for them to dry out some. A little tip, wash your hands very very good after planting these pepper seeds.

Great idea to bring the gingers in the house, their fragrance is outstanding. They are my mom's favorite flowers

Red Oak, TX

ardesia, that is a good clear picture of your Jatrophia podagrica.

Joeswife, your Plumeria is looking very healthy, no laughing here. I cried the first time I mail ordered plumerias and got little sticks, now they are huge. Do you have a Plumeria Pudica?

Jerii, everything is looking so grand, I am impressed with all your cocoa plants, you have enough there to start your own plantation.

Hi Sunshinesw. beautyberry is a new one for me, I will have to look it up.
