Geese you really need to say and show if possible what you have going on. We all have some troubles related to a cold start with our tomatoes. From what I am seeing if you get half what you usually get you may be about average this year.

We have tried trimming most of the leaves off the tomatoes as they came along. Very few of the lower leaves have yellowed. Some fruit are misshapen but most average size with good color. So far - - we are having good tomatoes but no where near as flavorful nor as many as the last few years.

Trim those leaves as soon as they appear to be going down for any reason. Some growers trim good non-producing leaves as a management tool. You plant does not need all those leaves to produce as well as it can. Remove those leaves and send them to the trash. Burning does not destroy fungi spores. Your compost pile will only serve to hold those spore over winter for you. Do not move from a bad plant to a good plant without bathing and changing clothes or you become the transport at least in part for the fungi.

This year with a lack of sun and warm wet nights the early fruit were not high quality tasty fruit. The third set of fruit regained goodness but not excellent anything.......skins are tough, meat is on the dry side, flavor not up to expectations and blossom end rot prevails. The less than overall healthy plants are having trouble with all of their functions.

There is no gennie in a bottle for this given year. We look forward to another year in hopes of having our tomato pots of gold up and doing well once again.

If you can rotate your crops your tomatoes will appreciate the move more than ever next spring.

Read my post above your's. There is really nothing you can do other than clean out the bad stuff and get it out of the patch.
