Beautiful!
Garden Photos '09.....#39
So beautifous Bev!
D-nut - most definitely You need to cut back Salvias to force them to rebloom.
O bother another thing I have not done. I thought they were onesys. Thanks Tex.
very nice shots today all... I am beat going to pass out now!!
Dyane, that Lexinton Avenue DL is very nice. When I saw it I thought, oh, looks like a Munson cultivar. I looked it up and I was right! His cultivars are pretty distinctive looking, often having light colored 'eyes'.
Victor, Tex and Bev, great pics from today. Hard to pick a favorite.
Tex, I have cut back some salvias and others didn't have time for. Don't always have time for deadheading stuff. If I deadheaded all my DL's everyday during peak season it would probably take me 2 hours of time I could be using for more important chores.
GF, that Henryi lily is gorgeous! I'm beginning to like oriental and Asiatic lilies a lot more this year than in the past, and am just finding out how many gorgeous cultivars there are to collect.
Karen
Thanks Jo Ann, Victor, Karen, Dyane and Robin....... From Precious! Robin.... Yep, she certainly knows she Regal! Either that or she just knows that she's the largest and most agile of all the animals around here. lol!!
GF.... Lovely Lily!
Dragonfly.... your hostas are so very pretty!
Tex.... love the 'group shot'. you must get great arrangements from all of those!
Victor... which Sedum is that? I like it.
Dyane... that's one of the best mistakes that I've seen in a while!
Jo Ann... your garden has come such a long way in such a short amount of time. Nice job and great planning!
Tex! I was giving up on Dahlias until I saw yours with more blossoms.
You are a few weeks ahead of us so I'll give it time.
Hi RC.
I am taking more time with choosing plants.
Bloom time is so important I'm dealing with late blooming lilies now and the colors of long blooming companion plants.
Like working in DL's and taller lilies.
Just cant have enough lilies.
Okay keeping up with this thread is very difficult if you miss a day. Lots of wonderful blooms, garden shots keep them coming, and RC your kitty is too cute. I have one that does the sphinx pose too so I know exactly what you mean.
Jo Ann, if you're looking for late blooming DLs, Olallie Farm in VT has quite a few---some of mine are just opening now, & they offer some that bloom into Sept. Bev, are those dark purple flowers campanula? Tex, your white dahlia is a beauty. Shelley, hope to see more photos of Precious.
victoria grace looks nice!
I have a lupin in bloom too.
A new plant from GC .I'm off to stomp some DG'ers seeds into the area and hope for a merical
Very nice, Celeste. I like the plum or grape one a lot.
I'll check on the sedum, Shelly. It's one of the dark ones.
Ngam.... Thanks for catching my mix up on the terms and knowing what I ment! lol. Isn't it just so cute when they sit like that. It always looks like they're supervising the actions going on. Precious usually sits like that when she's perched up on her cat tree, so she's looking down on everything.
Jo Ann... well, whatever the plan is is working for you! I Don't have that discipline. If I like it, can afford it, it goes on the wish list, and I find a place that works for it. That's my discipline!
Pixie... patty's plum, or whatever, is luscious! Yours is still blooming? My poppies were done a while ago. Although, it doesn't help that the moles wont quit tunneling under them.
Robin.... I will definitely post more pics of Precious, but I always worry about boring everyone with cat pics on a gardening web site! lol. I've posted the link to a short video that I have of her before, but have you seen it or want to? My cat that passed away last year was my truest gardener! she went with me every where in the garden, to the point that I had to worry about not stepping on her because she was always right behind me. Precious only has short visitation rights to the garden since she has to be constantly supervised.
Thanks Victor.... although 'one of the dark ones' does fit!
thanks RC
You started me out with those great hostas and in the spring I always think of you when the viola leaves are purple and green.
So many nice pics, everyone!
Nice skipper shot, Victor!
I like your fish pond garden, Bev.
Celeste, Riseman's Flame is a DL that's on my wish list.
Karen
