Pet-friendly Weed Killer

Dallastown, PA(Zone 6a)

SO, the walk in my backyard is made up of pavers... It's really pretty, however, they are constantly consumed with weeds. It's gotten so bad that you can barely see the actual walk. I've been in this house for 2 years. The first year wasn't too bad but this year it's been CRAZY due to the heavy amounts of rain we've gotten... Last year I was pulling them and digging them out with an old putty knife, but it was really hard on my fingers even with gloves on... I can't spray Round-Up or anything like that because I have 2 dogs that are constantly out there. I thought about using the Round-Up at night after the dogs go out for the last time and then letting it dry overnight, but Hubby still doesn't think it's a good idea. So, I'm perusing websites for 'Pet-friendly Weed Killer' and found a few ideas... Boiling water was the first I saw. This seems like a really good idea to get rid of what I have right now, because it could cover a wide area... The other items I thought would be good for the upkeep. I found vinegar, salt and sugar. The site told me that I could you any of these things to kill weeds and I could also combine them to make it stronger... I was wondering if anyone had tried these things and what your feed back may be???

Have you seen the torches that are designed for this? I mainly see them advertised for killing weeds around pools, but I think that it would suit your purpose very well.

Torches? No, I've never heard/seen anything like that... Um, maybe this is a dumb question, but what exactly is it? A flame? LOL

Torches are a good idea. Yes, they are a flame. Most people use the propane powered ones, but some use steam.

Here's one.

And vinegar does work.

Hmm, pretty neat! Although, I'm not so sure I should be using an open flame LOL...

Has anyone else had any luck with the home remedies?
