Does anyone have this shrub? I have it planted along the back of the fence in my perennial garden. I am in the process of looking for plants that will compliment this shrub. Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Plants that go well with Sambucus- Black Beauty Shrub.
I just planted a "Wine and Roses" weigela behind some White Swan Coneflowers. Provides a good backdrop so that the flowers don't get lost when viewed from afar. White daisies or any white flower would pop out more I would think.
Enjoy your new shrub!

PS: My planting went the other way - flowers first, then shrub. Better to start out your way -shrub then flowers. :)
After a new garden at the back of my lot finally came into bloom I noticed the need. Its addition makes viewing the overall garden from the patio much nicer. Overall that garden is predominantly white with yellow, blue and silvers laced throughout. A splash of coral reef bee balm off center for fun - similar colored flowers but different enough that I'm glad it blooms at a different time than the first and second flush of blooms from W&R.
Have fun planning

Hi Sharon. Thanks for your comments. Sounds like you are having fun in your garden. I like your ideas too. Happy Gardening--IrishLass
I have some hardy geraniums, Jolly Bee that grew up through my Black Lace and bloomed at the same time. It was a pretty combo.
Thank you pollyk. It is great to be able to get info from other garden fanciers. Have a great day.- IrishLass
