Coffee Break # 16 - (Drowned) Dog Days

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Hi, all.
I'll take all the chocolate you can send, not that white stuff though.
The web site drama continues. Now she's sending undesirables to join and stir things up. I had to ban 2 today and implement a "review before acceptance' feature for new members. Two and a half years of open enrollment with only minor issues, now this.
I spent some time weeding a perennial bed today, very therapeutic. The Vietnamese neighbors were playing some soft ethnic music, very nice. I feel much better now.

weeding & music can both be theraputic.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - it doesn't end, does it, Andy?!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Hi all MY Andre is mad because his breed the Tervurens are ranked only 14. I think that is because they think everything is a joke. I can just see the scientist trying to get a Terv to play by the rules. LOL

I thought him to show his teeth.

Yes . Anyone may feel free to send chocolates to anyone here. Don't wantto add to the resilience of the woman bugging Andy.

Thomaston, CT

Good trick---shepherds are smart----hope the weather has gotten better for you, Wren. Glad you're doing better, Andy---music is a good mood-changer.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

He is a Belgian Tervuren and they are smart but also they think life is a joke and we humans are the funnist things around. Thankfully I do not take my self seriously or I would be embearous (?) that my dog things he is smarter than I am. LOL

Weather still stinks. Hotter that you know where and really nasty storms.

Good night y'a;;

Cool Wren, I love it. My name is Andre too.
I have gained the upper hand. Usually when someone is banned on my site everything is deleted, somehow her pics remain. She was using the site as backup, ah ha. Cease and desist or they are gone. LOL. We are negotiating their retrieval.
I'm starting to have fun.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Go for it!! LOL

My four legged Andre was named after Andre Norton my favorite author. His registered name is C______(can not spell or pronounce the kennel name)Story Teller. And he is. LOL

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Andy, I'm glad you're feeling more empowered, and that things feel a little better. I know it sounds like psychobabble BS but some psychobabble is true.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Well, when you're working with psychos things don't go as planned.
I offered her a 10 hour window to retrieve her pics. She has a lot of pics and they are all mixed up in our gallery because she never organized them into albums.
She turned it down flat. OK, I said. The deal is off and your pics are gone.
Now she has reported me to the site owners where these negotiations have been going on. Defamation of character, libelous, threatening, you name it. I don't care, I'm on that site strictly to straighten out this mess. All of this is in the open, no private messages. I took plenty of screen shots in case she deletes anything.
The fun is gone, it's tedious now.

Wren, my Sarah has teeth too.

How boring, Andy! No fun for you. Psychos will be psychos.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Love that pic of the space station Victor.

Andy, sorry you have to go through this trouble with the crazy lady! What's the saying about one bad apple? Hope she doesn't ruin your pie!

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Victor's article is being rerun today! I laughed as hard as the first time I read it:-) Very clever.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

The stuff really hit the fan late Saturday. I had to make my site Private, the psycho and I both got warnings to cool it on the negotiation site with all our comments deleted. The psycho set her profile page to private, wise move. She also got a warning to stop messaging other members about the matter.
All was quiet Sunday and so far today.
I took yesterday off from the internet except for a couple 'check ins'. Daily Pics (my site) is back to normal but still private for a bit longer. I hope this is the end of the story. Cross your fingers.
Harper, your "pie" reminds me of what my mom used to do with a problem cake. "Just fill in the gaps with frosting, no one will notice." Mom knew how to smooth things out, lol.

Thanks, Joyce! I was surprised when I just logged into DG a few minutes ago to see all the dmails regarding it. Glad you enjoyed it.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Oy, Andy! Hope your sweet frosting fills in the gaps! Oooo, you're making me hungry for cake now.

South Hamilton, MA

e-mails & such can be pointless babble as well

If they are pointless and take more then 3 small paragraphs - they get deleted or recycle bin.

Ahh - the smell of money...

I wondered why money always elevated my mood.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Come to think of it, Money cakes were the most troublesome cakes.
Money cakes were for birthdays etc. She would wash then wrap coins in wax paper and bake them in. They would settle to the bottom making the cake harder to free from the pan in tact.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Could you put the money in after baking but before frosting?

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Sounds like a good idea, Dave. A little slice and slip it in.
This was 50 years ago when 5 cents bought a Popsickle. A half dollar got a Matchbox car.

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

Little Matchbox trucks were fun. Do they even make them any longer?

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

My mom used to do that, and she would slide it into the cake after it was baked. I'd forgotten about that.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hacksaw blades were big bake items in my family.

:) Victor.

Well, DH started inservice today and classes start on Monday. He spent allllll summer making the kitchen cabinets. There are 17 of them. almost finished. They took him a lot longer than he thought they would. Bless his heart! He put in mostly 10-12 hr. days. Someday they will look nice in our kitchen. Am I complaining? Not at all. I appreciate the time and effort put into them.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Congrats, Jan. Let's see them!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Cabinets made with love are better than Melamine.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

good for him jan that is a lot of work

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

heehee Victor!!
My sister has hand made cabinets in her kitchen and they are gorgeous. Let's see pics!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Thanks, I'll tell him. Sorry, no pics. Not yet. He works so hard at what ever he does, it's amazing! during the school year he gets there by 7 and doesn't leave till about 4:30, then grades papers, etc. til about 10 or so. Needless to say, he appreciates any days off. His room is pretty well ready, cuz he cleaned up the lab very well at the end of the year. Only one new class this year - AP Calc. II.
