August Flowers

(Zone 1)

My wayettii has lots of leafless tendrils too! I had to move it and brevialata away from the screen because those long, dangly, thin tendrils grow through the screen! Maybe I should try a little experiment and leave one to take off through the screen to see if I could have blooms on both sides?!

This is wayettii, the entire spidery looking plant:

Wow!! That's gorgeous Lin!!

I didn't say I didn't want it...I just didn't want to be greedy ^_^

Thanks SS! I agree, that's a great shot Ric!

(Zone 1)

Oh, I love the pubicalyx silver pink bloom and Ric, that macro shot of your pubicalyx is really great! I have three pubicalyx's ... only one with an ID, Royal Hawaiian Purple that I got a year ago in a DL order. No blooms on any of mine yet. Geesh, I hope I don't have to wait years and years to see pubicalyx blooms in person!

Today is our 40th anniversary, and I found H. heuschkeliana pink in bloom this morning:

Happy anniversary Lin! That is a fantastic picture of H. heuschkeliana; I can't take a good picture of mine to save my life.

Doug

Yes, that is an amazingly good shot Lin; I know how tiny those flowers are! I've only had the yellow one flower for me; its a bit bigger, and I have trouble getting a good shot of the flowers.

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

Oooh Lin.....what a gourgeous H. heuschkeliana! Great shot of that tiny beauty.
Happy anniversary!

Very clear and sharp Christina

Thanks everyone!

I got heuschkeliana in trades here on DG ... one from you Ric and one from Bmedel. I potted them both up together and it made a nice little plant. I love the cute little blooms on heuschkeliana and hope to get the one with yellow blooms before long too.

Oh, I like densifolia a lot. Christine, those are beautiful photo's! I clicked on the first one and really liked the look of it with one open bloom and oooh, when I saw the photo of it fully opened ... Wow! That is one hoya bloom with a really pretty combination of colors.

Beautiful flowers, everyone!

Christina,
The shape of those H. densifolia flowers remind me of small Eriostemma flowers. H. densifolia has really beautiful. flowers. Another hoya goes on my must-have list. (:o)

Really like this hoya, fast gracious grower and very elegant yellow blooms with a very long pedicel.

Any one else have H. sp. Tanna blooming. I know Dee in Fl. has one blooming, and mine are, so it would be interesting to see if it is evryone.

Carol,

My buds were opening this morning, I will take a picture when I get home. Mine are not as pink as yours :( wonder if I should move it outside to brighter light??

Dee

York, PA(Zone 6b)

Carol,
Mine bloomed about 3 weeks ago...it's part of your plant that you yanked down from the tree.
The blooms are definitely NOT pink at all...just white.
Here's the photo...again.

Great photos everyone.
SRQ, that RHP does not look like RHP. To me it looks more like pink silver.

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

Joni,

I agree with you, mine looks more like your, waaa, I wanted more pink.

Dee

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Hmmm It is all so variable. Joni...you can see the pink trying to come out under the corona. Do you grow it in HIGH light or LOW light? My light on the tree is fairly low.

York, PA(Zone 6b)

Sunshine,
My RHP looks a lot more pink this time...same peduncle a few months ago looked like this?

Thumbnail by SRQHoyas
York, PA(Zone 6b)

Carol,
I have had this one in about 5 hours full sun/beneath the screen of course.
Maybe if I move it to low light the pink will come from beneath the corona?
