purple hull peas

I have a problem, I fill really dumb, I planted purple hull peas for the first time this year. but now I don`t know which is peas and which is green beans. I am told that the peas will have a purple pod, but everything is green how can I tell the difference? Help

It's been a long time since I've grown either, but try inspecting the area of the leaves where the three leaflets' bases unite -- if there's any purplish or reddish coloration present there I'd bet those would be your purple hulls.

Southern peas have quite different vines than bush green beans. Pea vines are slick, bean vines are sticky. The leaves are also different. Peas are borne on stalks above the plant. Beans grow on little twins with the plant structure. Purple hulls have an added advantage in that the hulls turn dark purple when ready for use as green shellies.
