Cripes!!

I'm amazed the string didn't break! Or did the bear come crashing down 2 seconds later??

I'm not sure what happened after this pic was taken. It was sent to me in an e-mail photographer unknow. There were other pics showing how the bear got to the feeder if any one is interested I'm going to post them on the wild life forum under bear trouble.

Hey Margaret, Are you officially retired now? Last time I heard, there was only 8 days left.

Going down to the creek bank this morning, I spooked a little female Downy from the mullein stalks. She flew into the ash trees, with the sun behind her. Bad for photos! Good for me that she flew back to the mullein for more seed. Here she's peeking out at me.

Yes Burn. Thanks for asking. Officially retired as of 4 days ago. Well, retired from one job and have launched myself into writing a book. I been watching the threads but haven't been posting. I'm under instruction on how to resize to allow me to post. I have lots to show and tell on the Ospreys.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Congratulations on your retirement Margaret. I hope you'll enjoy writing your book.
Tiger, your Downy is just adorable.
Lily, your little Titmouse is a cutie too!
Burn, don't say "same old gang", I'd be happy to host all your cute birds! You should tell your local power company they need to build a pole nest next to the power lines for your Osprey. Our local guys love the good publicity they get for all the ones they've built for us here.

More poses by my juvie Scrub Jays.

The California Quail come to this specific spot every year to dig and roll in the dirt in our neighbor's yard. They all take turns and really seem to enjoy themselves. My guess is they're just grooming themselves.
