Tomatoes not making

We planted our tomatoes a little late, but I've taken good care of them and despite a couple of weeks of 100-plus heat they look great. they have blooms all over them, but they haven't made any fruit. The blooms after awhile just wither and fall off. Any suggestions?

I was in the same boat with my tomatoes this year. My first thought was that the flowers were not getting pollinated. After about a week of meticulously checking every plant on a daily basis, I finally gave up. Then, just as I had finally stopped obsessing about caprese salad, I noticed something peeking out at me between the leaves - a tiny tomato! There are now many more all waiting to mature. I can only hope that they have enough time to ripen before the inevitable frost and pest invasion.

My advice... patience. Most likely you will get some soon.

rampbrat - It's probably too hot for your tomatoes to set fruit. Once it gets above 80-85F the tomatoes will bloom, but drop their blossoms. Once the temps drop, they will set fruit.

Mine are doing the same thing. It's just too darned hot for them right now. Once the cooler temps set in for the fall, the fruit will come. Just gotta be patient and continue nursing those plants along.
