Just doing final things at the house, Suzanne calls, says let's do breakfast so had to put my butt into gear, actually pulled into restaurant same time she did..then between our office and the restaurant is a quick lube garage...asked how long it would take, all of 5 minutes so although I'd be 5 minutes late thought I'd get it over and done with.. $79.99 later..needed new filter and rad fluid but with new tires and a tune up she's ready to travel..dirty again though...

All that remains is my going up to the insurance company to purchase travel insurance then off to mom's after work..

Yea Betty, I'm not going to change that, it takes me so long to make up my mind, when I finally do I don't change it. I'd have to go through the whole thing again lol. It's the Best Western I sent you. Check in time is 2pm, I don't think I told you that. If you want to do the service I'm assuming you'd be getting out at 11, then to the hotel somewhere around 1:30 or 2, I don't mind. Or you can get there at noon like your schedule says, and I can meet the two of you at the hotel and we can hop into my car and go do something for a couple of hours til we can check in. Whichever...

Betty, that little red bloom is a crocosmia, not a lily, and I might be spelling the word wrong, but it appears on the DG banner on your home page in the summertime usually.

I have one here that spreads like wildfire, and looks like it in summertime, too....

Didn't think they grew here Shar...could I have received them in seeds send to me from some of you? or do they have to grow from bulbs..if they do, then do I have to take the bulb out before winter?

Sun finally come out..calling for nicer weather this weekend, thank goodness for all who have plans...

Oh I was going to check the weather in Memphis for Sunday... It was supposed to be nice here all weekend but now they're calling for more rain all weekend, and normally what we get, Memphis gets. We are 200% above normal for our July rainfall.

Betty, I'm not even sure how mine grows as it does, nor do I know where mine came from. They are usually considered tropical. I think mine came as one of those spikes that is often seen in potted community plants that are sent as gifts, so I must have just planted it in the garden and forgotten about it, then the next year up it came and bloomed, then I realized what it was. I just left it in the ground, and don't do a thing to it at all. Not sure what to tell you about it there.

Here's my greeting this morning...just about all that is left blooming...

Is a long weekend and many take the Friday off (as I've done) to extend it..I'm so hoping Debbie that you are an early riser...because the road I have to travel tomorrow morning might be sooo busy and also a long wait at the border..the earlier I leave the better..

Trisha while at lunch the news was on at the pizza pizza restaurant..they were talking about the heat over in your neck of the woods..today it's hot-high of 70..can't imagine how you are coping with such high temps..are they calling for cooler weather? how do you deal with your gardens, is there a water restriction?

Whew I am exhausted been going non stop for days, lolol nothing like being a procrastinator, yours truley here, a big one!

Betty seems it's going to take twice as long if you take back roads or freeway. The thing that I think about to justify it is at least you're moving and in the right direction ^_^

Oh I have a funny. I didn't come on last night, I was too tired and busy doing laundry Dave started for me and what-not, then I just had to play Farm Town and Farmville on Facebook lol. I put my PJ's on and sat down in my office chair and I hear this 'rrrrriiiiiiiiip' my jammies ripped right in the butt, so I'll be buying new pj's after work either today or tomorrow lol!

Judy we're meeting in Memphis and we're going to have a ball! There is a junk store on Beale Street (there's a lot of junk stores on Beale Street) I want to go to again, it's really neat and has a lot of crazy stuff. Me and Dave went there a couple weeks ago but they were closing at 6 and it was already 5:50.

Washington and Oregon is breaking all kinds of records, records that have never been set before. When I lived in Modesto it got up to 105 regularly during the summer, and here it does too for a bit, so I'm used to it. I feel for everyone who isn't used to it, it's not supposed to be that hot at the Canadian Border!

Here's the weather report for Memphis on Sunday, Sunday night, and Monday morning:

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 87.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.

Betty and Debbie, make sure you bring your shorts, you're not going to want to be in that heat and humidity in jeans, it's probably going to feel 95.

Liz, we’d happily send some of the heat down, but I don’t think Mother Nature is happy with anyone this year, so I don’t think she’ll answer. My plants are doing fine, so much shade in my yard they only get the full heat for a couple of hours. I think I lost a tri-color sage, but it wasn’t in the ground when the heat hit. I soaked it in the pond and got it planted, but I think it was too late. I think I had a bit of the summer flu going around for about a week, in any case my tummy didn’t like me and I was tired all day, sleeping about 14 hours a day with night and naps, so I didn’t get anything done. The Iris that had the same issue seems to be doing fine. I also have a black violet that I might lose, they require so much water.

Crissy, we have the heat in the middle, and the emergency broadcast system warned of thunder storms in the hills causing flash floods and large (stay away from windows) hail somewhere, didn’t catch where.

It was in the rural mountains where only mountain men live.

Today is muuuuch better it is only around 90 right now and I can deal with that.....is supposed to cool down to the eighties over the weekend and back to high seventies, low eighties by the end of next week...will be nice to get back to normal....wish we could just one of the little thunder storms to drop a bit of water for a few minutes.....

I am living vicariously through you all - gone from 4 weeks vaca to no weeks vaca...not sure when I'll have time off...

But I keep reminding myself....4 weeks per year of happy is less than 52 weeks per year of miserable....

So I'll just travel and vacation and spend time with friends through your posts!
