Have any of you tried the cityline dwarf hydrangeas? Wayside Gardens offered one in their email ad last week said to be 1 - 2 feet high and wide at maturity. Since moving to an apartment I'm mostly container gardening with shade on both front and back porches. Would appreciate some input before I spend the money and order one of these. They look so darling in the ad!

Don't know about the dwarf hydrangeas but here are the reviews for Wayside....

www.gardencrossings.com also carries some of the Cityline ones, and they have a much better rating in Watchdog, so if you do decide to get some I'd get them there instead. All the info I've seen on them says they do stay small--most of the ones on Garden Crossing's site are listed as 1-3 ft tall and 3-4 ft wide so you shouldn't have any trouble keeping them in a container. If you want them slightly smaller than they naturally want to grow, you can probably control them a bit with pruning (although be careful when you prune--they bloom on old wood so make sure you prune right after flowering)
Thank you both! I've never ordered from Wayside untill recently and won't get my plant till fall. Ordered a floribunda rose. I'll try the Garden Crossing site. Hope the hydrangeas do good for me. Wish me luck!
