Just received an order with reticulated iris that I forgot about! Supposed to be back in the 60's next week---I'll plant then.

Just received my Blue Star tulips from High Country Gardens....I think they should be called Blue Star crocus, man those bulbs are small!!!

flowerjen I find that the species tulips often have smaller bulbs although not as little as crocii. They will be so prettiful! They're on my list.

I'm hauling in my photogenic hoses in for thawing as I'm going to water to plant the last of the bulbous things. I tried breaking in by jumping up and down on my trusty big fork but there is too many ice crystals in the soil at the moment and I don't want to wait any longer.

Have 7 thalia daff bulbs sitting in a bag. We are away for the weekend & hope Indian Summer comes next week so they can get in & more weeds come out.

No way I could have planted today---snow, lovely snow.

I got my B&B order today! It looks great! Very good quality bulbs. : ) Maybe I'll have time to post some pics tomorrow. Very chilly here. I am hoping it will warm up soon too. I am a wimp about cold.

I mean warmer weather after the first frost, no matter what you call it.

meredith you can dig some hole for bulbs - i planted a few hundred today - it was not so bad out there - and i had on shorts :) (used knee pads tough)

wha you're my hero. Some wimps in my clime are folding with our latest freeze. I will be watering to break ground in my kick butt red satin pjs with my celebratory red bow on my head AND I will be dancing and singing my "If I Only Had A Brain" digging song AND looking way too cute digging out my dahlias and planting by last bulbs. Yupper it's sooooooooo relative my dear ones.

you paint quite a picture dnut - are there built in slippers and a flap in the back of those pj's? :)

All my red satin pjs are boy style pjs wha. My dahliafeets don't like slippers. They like to be au natural. I do have matching red mittens though ^_^

Wha I can't beleive you were wearing shorts! I was outsidein winter boots and a winter jacket and I was still freezing!

:) my in-laws showed up in winter coats to - i did have on a long sleeve work shirt - and used knee pads while getting the bulbs in - it actually continued to warm up through the day.

I got my order from dutchbulbs today. : ) I am all set to plant.. I am not as hardy a gardner as you though. The forcast is showing 60's for Tues. & Wed. I'm keeping fingers crossed it happens. And that it stays in the 60's to the weekend so I can happily finish up all my gardening stuff I never got around to. This cold is like mother nature slapping me in the face and saying that it's gonna be too late soon! : )

I got some Iris reticulata one of which is........."Pixie" ^_^
and some crocus.

Mine came last week and are in the ground already.

I didn't see 'Pixie' until I had already ordered last June. I meant to add it to my order but didn't get back to it in enough time!! Maybe next year or i'll talk Allison into trading me some "Pixie' for something. lol
