I wanted to do peas, but I know it's way to late. I've been sick and only just now can I start planting some things. What type of vegetables are OK to start now?
What can I plant this late?
If your first frost date is in October or later, You have plenty of time to plant. Summer vegetables like snap beans, summer squash. Fall vegetables probably still too hot, but if you are at a higher elevation, you could consider Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, collards (plants) beets, carrots, winter radishes, English peas, mustard, rutabaga, kale , turnips etc. Check with your county agent for appropriate planting times in your area.
Crackerjacklady2007,
Here's a planting chart from Heirloom seeds. Check for your first frost date and go from there. Quite a bit can be planted from seeds OR plants you can get at your local nurseries.
Godspeed and Good Harvest!

Don't forget your lettuce! Mine bolted in the summer so I'm getting my second lot in now...
Thank you! I'll have to get to busy. :)
