Dont get Bored talk away even when there is no one here it isnt true watch the numbers top right...We gardeners seem to love lurking.....compare post to views Mindy....Someone is listening to every word you say and eventually they come in and chat....
LOL yeah I know what you mean there. OK so you have zone 6 and mechelle has 7/8 and I have 5. If you want check the home page and look to see if there are any ones listed there in your zone that haven't been listed in the member zones yet and if there is you can dmail them from there too, but remember to check your members list too.
What is that mekos ? sure is purty
Is that the Magnoila Vine mekos? My seeds have not sprouted :^(
Red Chinese magnolia vine. Got company right now got to go for a while.
YUP, mine was sowed for 3 months before they magically decided to show themselves. Had given up and was going to re-use the pot , when I saw them swelled and sprouting. Put them back under the grow light and woot-hoot as cue would say. My son is here, talk to ya later when he leaves.
Tell you son all your crazy friends said "hi" - lol. It's been about a month for mine and I just make sure the soil is damp and let 'em be. Hopefully one day they'll sprout. I'm just impatient - lol.
That is so pretty Jan....Hi KT2 how you been catching up still from your trip home?
I was doing well catching up and then my little monkeys started school this week, so it's crazy all over again - lol. Got some more labels last night at WallyWorld and will be sorting and bagging theseeds I'm sending for the newbie stash this weekend :^)
Any blueberries yet?
Funny I was just getting ready to post about blueberries KT2 http://www.mainebiz.biz/news44947.html?Type=search
I saw these this weekend....Not sure yet what I think about them sticking up over the tress....Very large trees tallest in the state I am sure. http://www.mainebiz.biz/news44872.html?Type=search
DAVE'S GARDEN
Newbie here sayin' “Hi Y'all!” (Sometimes I like to try out new cyber-accents; it looses something in the translation to bits, tho.)
Not really a newb; I've been in & out of DG periodically the last few years, but am well and truly a new subscriber. So, I hope I will now set a spell and put down some roots, so to speak.
I opened the home page & was immediately drawn to “SEED JUNKIE”...now that's callin' my name!
[Question: What's worse, a seed junkie or a fabric junkie?
Answer: A fabric junkie, because
a) fabric takes a lot more room to store and
b) you can't have as much fun sorting it in various obsessive ways (Should I go with just Perennials and Annuals or...ooh ooh, SUBsets of the veggies: Curcurbits, Legumes, Nightshades...)
c)it is easier to imagine the work completed (i.e.: look at a seed packet and see rows of Lupine or Corn waving in the breeze vs. imagining the work to transform fabric to clothing or curtains.]
But I digress.
I was a bit thrown off by the porn convo, as the 1st pic I saw was something like Gazania. But I was reassured that y'all are not hopelessly in the gutter when I saw Clitoria a bit later. The last image is lovely. Indeed a thread to share with the hubs. Might encourage them to help with the weeding. (You never know what you might find in there hon!)
Well, must go see how DG has grown & what to do with all these new parts. Need some more ideas for my birthday tomorrow. (I already know about one present: a lovely turqoise necklace. I'm not psychic: I ordered it myself while I was shopping for new door levers of Overstock & gave the package to DH when it arrived with instructions to surprise me. I must have some sort of new virus that re-directs pages from door hardware to jewelry. The old virus usually went to Territorial Seed Co. or LandsEnd. Or both.
Regards,
Donna/CheBella
hot in NY (from the temperature, ladies!)
Hiya, Donna!
Welcome to the funny farm - lol. We move around quite a bit, so here's the link to the latest thread. You'll have to watch closely to see where we end up next, but you seem like a pretty smart gal (and funny too!), so you'll figure us out in a heartbeat.
Welcome back I guess is the most appropriate! We're a fun bunch for sure!

Welcome Donna you fit right in already. Hope you enjoy your stay here with us.
Hi Donna,
I am glad to meet you. It sounds like you can certainly settle in here. You already fit in.Seed or fabric it doesn't seem to matter heck some of us are using our fabric in our lasagna gardens now. Guess that mean bigger Pplants right. What has happen to us...
Oh well welcome Donna and Happy Birthday.
Overstock yeah it is definitely a virus that leads you from hardware to jewelry like that...
Robin
Good Morning All my equal and opposite counter part on the seed junkie thread had inspired me once again....This is what I am thinking.
Lasagne garden, Hmmm.... I am thinking I should have one, well a working one. I do have one. Just not done. ...and when I get seeds donated from where-ever they come from...a couple of each should go into the lasagna bed for newbie collection purposes? What do you think? How big do I make it? What do I call it? Oh silly me Newbie garden? Collection place...Seed storage field...Can u all come over and help me dig it and plant it?
What a great idea Robin. I wouldn't mind a bit helping you dig and plant but it's too far for me and I can't get to town this week when I want to. You better count the seeds and multiply by 2 and check spacing for the size may need to do more than one LOL
Ok but you have the spread sheet...Cant it count and multiply by two and such?
Robin, its probably best not to go bigger than 4' X 6' on each bed, that way, all plants are easily accessible from the outside of the bed.. or you could go longer if you wish.. but i wouldnt go wider than 4'
Yes Robin I can tell you how to make the spreadsheet do whatever math you want it's not hard I just had to learn it since I don't really mess with spreadsheets much. I'll send you the how to on that in a little bit.
Great so when you are all done you can just push the button and tell me how much space I will need to plant say two seeds of each different packet you see? Well you don't see them all though because the new ones that Mom is now sorting from the auctions are not on there. But I could get a start with what is on there.
I'll work on it for you . by the way is monbower bush the same as moonflower bush?
Well that sounds like either a moonflower bush or a Bower bush. Hmm...Or I guess it could be a moonflower.
I'll keep it seaprate just in case LOL
Robin you have important dmail.
From who all my dmail is important Margaret......
