Hi mekos. Yeah for rain! We got a little sprinkling last night to go along with the wind and thunder and lightning. Storms in the forecast through Saturday, so hoping for more rain. The monsoons are weird. The storms usually come at night.

You stay safe, my friend. I don't like storms at night. We have one more chance for some rain in the morning then it moves on down hill from us. Maybe a little more in the morning.
Are you out in the country? I grew up out in the boonies. It was gorgeous, but kinda scary at night sometimes when storms would roll in - lol.
my dream is to live in the woods... all alone.. not a neighbor for miles. surrounded by tall trees.. just me and the cats.. and possibly Sasquatch...

You can have sasquatch. Yes, I'm out in the boonies. We sometimes have to pipe in sunlight, and they roll up the sidewalks when the sun goes down. Them boonies. No street lights except lightning at times.
Oh mekos that sounds just perfect! I live in the dumb city with sirens and cars and city noise all around me...
I like cue's idea, too. Well maybe minus the Sasquatch...

I grew up like Mekos lives. Boonies. Wonderful Black starlit nights. Secret whispers from everywhere. Whip-o-wills and owls. Foxfire and ghostly shadows. Caves. My Granpa and I would chase lights at night through the fields. He read poetry to me instead of TV. Summer gig only though. Back to the real world during the winter. Not like Moose Lodge though.

Sounds great. Hey, would anyone be interested in a seed auction? I just suggested it to cue and if anyone is interested, we'll do a new forum for it. They way it works is I post a pack of seeds available and if you want them, you bid by saying what seeds or plants you would trade for them. Anyone interested ??

This is just in the planning stage but you can bid with seeds or plants or combine if you really want something being auctioned and you could maybe get someone to bid something for you and you trade it out with them. just some ideas. Really would like to know if anyone is interested. If so, we may do it one day a week. Like post the seed up for auction on Wednesday night and work the auction until sunday night then post a new pack of seeds Sunday night for ending up on thursday night. That way everyone could get in on it and have time to see what they can come up with to bid. Combine with someone else if ya had to, etc.

Well I will tell you all I wish that the ones of you that need the rain that you only had a 1/3 of what we have had today. It has rain so much and so hard here almost all day. I had to make a trip down south for the day and it was raining so hard I could hardly see where I was going and all day too ! Where did it come from. cue did you do that rain dance and send it to the wrong person? LOL

I have decided to reopen this newbie thread. It is the last thread I opened and we needed a thread that newbies are sure will get them to the directions....there has been a suggestion that we might do some seasonal garden tips, information about the Auctions, Contest , things like that here. I thought it was a great idea..... Please feel free to jump in all are welcome new and old questions , concerns, and helpful hints about the newbie program would be greatly appreciated.
Sending or receiving of your newbie packages, seed donations for the newbie box any and all of that....

A list of who has which zone to send letters to the newbies would be great here....So I can find you all....
Yeah we have a problem. I found 2 people that are in the zone that I am doing and they were not listed in the memebrs list zones yet. I am afraid we will be missing some if I don't try to keep up on the home page list. I think I am going to go ahead and do the home page and that way I can keep a watch on newbies. If they get 2 dmails about it , it won't matter, at least they will know one way or another.
I have Zone 6 but check 6 7 and 8
i have zones 9, 10, and 11
Flower when you go to the homepage and click on whomever it is that you are thinking of sending the dmail to...Just check their home page from there it tells the zone....

Yeah I know . These people were in the zone I am taking care of. I probably didn't explain very well. I am just doing the ones in my zone. The others might want to check home page list for ones in their zones. If it was like the 2 I found this morning they aren't yet listed in the zone list.

I guessed that's what you meant. Mechelle has 7 and 8 and no I'm not sending dmails to those zones just being nosy and checking LOL boredom is an awful thing to suffer on a computer you know
