Free Seed For Newbies... 7-21-09 Come on over!!!!

I had this happen early in the summer with my brugs. woke up one morning and the leaves looked like swiss cheese. found out it was inch worms, but took alot to actually figure out waht it was.

look carefully under the leaves. look verrrrry closely, as inchworms are almost identical in color and shape to the large leaf veins that run underneath. I ended up getting rid of them by just picking off and squishing...

btw.. where is blondie, KT2 and Robin??????

Blondie is around, in and out, a little busy right now,we've been d-mailing, Kt2 has been d-mailing me, so she is around too, the others seem to vanish when I'm here?!?

OH wow, those are prettier than mine. But mine are new and maybe just not as mature for the flowers yet. Hope you get a definate name on them, maybe put them on the ID forum? Do these look familiar?

The orchid is beautiful, Blondie will be tickled to see it. Ment to show cue this vine. It's black and has heart shaped leaves. I think a potatoe vine of some sort.

They look very similar to mine. You have to remember my DH weed whacked the foliage, so this picture shows them with little if any green - lol. Since it DID rain, I fully expect them to pop up in a day or two and this time I'll get a better pic with the foliage before someone mows it down again . . .

That definitely looks like a potato vine; which one I have no idea - lol...

mekos, does the last one you put up to see bloom? I have one just like it and it isn't very big but has bloomed a couple times and the blooms are the prettiest yellowish white.

Mine is a baby so it hasn't bloomed yet. Really don't know. Here is a huge red castor bean and it's so dark it looks black all the time. I haven't seen any red anywhere but I think it blooms red in the top in the fall.

Hey flower, when I planted this stuff, I didn't know any of it would be black, I've never had any of these before and now I'm noticing all the black color around, probably because of cue.

Well mine is such a dark purple you would think it was black unless you really looked at it closely.

BUT CUE, that castor is TOO BIG to ship. It has to guard my flower beds. This is cute.

actually, i have red castor bean seed here.. but have yet to plant it because i keep getting told its extremely invasive here (got it in my newbie pack back in march)... may plant it in a container just to be on the safe side

Arejay, remember the little tiny plant(micro small) I sent you when I first joined this club and the little black berries , this is the flower blooming now. That was several months ago, you may not remember.

That little lily is real cute, mekos. That second vine looks like "Blackie", sweet potato vine. Mine has little pink blooms when it decides to bloom - lol.

You can plant in the flower bed and just pull off the seed pods when they appear.

why IS it that most black foliage plant bloom PINK flowers....???????????

its like the flower GODS created a black plant for me, then laughed as they thought of them being full of pink girly blooms!!!!!

Mine is a dark red not the pink one. I have the pink one too but the leaves are green and not as big as this red one. They are 2 seperate plants.
Sorry, we been posting at the same time and I didn't see some of this, but I'm talking about the big red castor bean being black and blooms a blood red bloom.
