Shasta Daises look like they're dying???

Farmington, MI

Hello everyone,

I just bought these dasies last Saturday and transplanted them right away. I know sometimes the plants are in "shock" after being transplanted, but these look like they're dying. I've watered them and used Miracle Grow on them. Did I do something wrong???? They were so beautiful when I bought them.

Thanks for any help!

It's hard to tell from your picture--is it just the flowers that look like they're dying, or are the leaves dying too? It's normal for a plant that's just planted to let its flowers go so it can put its energy into getting its roots going, so if it's just the flowers dying off then I wouldn't worry at all.

Thanks, Ecrane3 for your response. The leaves look a little brown too. I'm attaching a picture of the leaves to this post.

I don't think your plants are dying, just a bit of transplant shock. Make sure you're watering them enough (but not too much). The best way to check is stick your finger down a couple inches into the soil and see how wet it feels, if it's really wet then you don't need to water yet, but if it's feeling dry then give them a good thorough soaking.

Thank you, Ecrane3. I'll check the soil and water accordingly.

Anytime I tranplant or plant, I water with Miracle-Go Quick Start, a planting and transplant solution to stimulate root growth and prevent transplant shock. Half capful in a gallon of water. Walmart has it. It really works.
