Since we are days away from the 40th anniversary of the moon landing, where were you when it happened?
I was six years old and watched it live while we were staying at our cousin's house.
Coffee Break # 15 - Where were you??
not here yet
:)
I was 8 and IrisMA woke my sisters and I to see it on tv.
This happened the year I graduated from high school. We all watched on tv at home.

Some of my earliest memories were of other, earlier spaceflights. It was very exciting to me and had a long-time influence on me. It started a life-long love of science and technology.
onewish you are were just a cutieputootie sparkle in the eye at the time awwwwwwww ^_^ Victor the moon landing was just made up by guys with tv commercial rights. WAIT! Can we please back up for me. What is that scary thing about ALS that Robin talked about. Thought to be caused by algae? Me and my friends lived in the lakes of the northeast for 20 years cuz we were waterbabies. I don't really care about me cuz I think I have a guardian angel and if not whatever but I do care about my dear, dear friends who swum in like BIGTIME algae with me. More links please dear Robindog to send on. Thanks everso.
yes the algae thing is scary ... who would think a thing like that could be harmful... don't they make that stuff into fertilizer?
Now they are talking about using algae for fuel. Wonder if it was just a problem with a certain type of algae?????
I was only 6 months old when they landed on the moon, my sis kept the newspaper from that date...I think I have it in the attic somewhere.
I don't want to brag but a little known fact is that yes they needed a gardener to assess the fertilhy of the moon. Yes it was me. I was there. I was like 10 and sorry but my findings are so super secret classified that if I tell you , I'd have to kill you.
LOL I had just graduated from high school and was working in my uncle's book bindery. I do remember seeing it though and being amazed.
dnut are the meds you take over the counter, prescription, or street corner? Please dmail me so i can get some :)
Tee hee wha. My DH often says 'We need to put you on meds' (snort) Fred Flintstone Vitamins is the way to go methinks. I like the part about 'healthy brain function' http://flintstonesvitamins.com/complete/index.html
any particular flavor that is a favorite?
grape. I wish they came in Sweet Tart flavour but they don't.
What are you washing them down with???
Yes, the algae thing, if true, is very scary.
what is the algae thing?
thx - i remember it now - have to alert my wife who is writing a paper on ALS for one of her classes.
Horrible disease.
Here's the article that Robin helped me find http://unhmagazine.unh.edu/sp09/dangerous_waters.html
Going back to the space stuff, DH was a 13 year old Boy Scout and his troop got to march in Neil Armstrong's homecoming parade. He got to meet him too.
That's great! I went to lectures by Aldrin and Collins - separately. I told Collins I always felt sorry for him being the 'designated astronaut.'
Leaving tomorrow evening for CO to see my mom so I won't be posting for a few days. I need to remember my camera because my sis loves gardening too, so I have to take some pics of her yard. First time out there, I can't wait.
I was nine months old. I'm sure I was glued to my mother's lap while the rest of the family watched the landing on TV.
Have a good time Jen and lots of love for your mom

I was 9 and Dad made me watch it. I'm glad he did.
Where? In front of the Tv with children.
I was in the basement - my brother had just done another of his holding his hand on my forehead and 'letting' / making me take swings at him - yea, he was older and had longer arms.
Then everything stopped - I will never forget it. My Dad switched on the b/w set we had down there and all 9 of us kidlets just stared and jabbered; although the older girls were not as rapt as I was - truly unforgettable.
More importantly - did you ever hit your brother?!
I was in second grade and I can't remember!!
No, but I did wallpaper his treehouse in the sunday comics with elmer's glue. I adored my older brother. But that was a big, big mistake....
I was 14 and watched it with a bunch of friends. I was about 6 when JFK said we wouldget there in 10 years. It seemed impossible, but it was done well ahead of schedule.
I was 8. It seemed VERY late at night, but I was the eldest of four, so we probably all normally went to bed pretty early. Although DB wasn't born until September, so I guess I was the eldest of three. Anyway, something happened in the basement, I don't remember what, but I remember these firefighters tramping trough the house to get to the basement and then tramping back again and stopping to watch the broadcast for a few minutes.
Maybe the fake moon landing was filmed in your basement, Carrie. (kerry)
Now it's done, have the moon material for study. Why go back? I'm happy that sites can use the satelites. Been checking scores from youth soccer in Sweden where 15 yr old GD is playing--eveidently they lost in the consulation playoff semis--but good to check. also we have international DGers.
