My sad plumeria!

Fredonia, NY

I have had a plumeria Nebel's Gold for about three years now. Last year it formed buds, but it was too late in the summer, and the buds never opened. This spring it started growing on its own during the dormant stage. I contacted Stokes tropicals and they told me to let it grow. Now it looks sad. I have six stems and only three are growing and the three are not growing well. I have nit done anything diffrent, but the one stem looks like the tip is actually rotten, even though it is still firm. I am not expecting flowers this year but I am hoping that it will turn around, any suggestions will be greatfull. I am planning on subscribing soon so I can go to the plumeria room but I can't just yet.

I would check on your watering (stick your finger down a few inches into the soil and see how wet it feels--plumerias don't need a ton of water so if it feels pretty wet then you're probably watering too much. Also if you could post a picture that might also be helpful in case it's something else besides watering that's causing the problem. It may also do better if you keep it outside during the warmer months--they like sun & heat (mine are looking a lot happier now that it's 100 degrees and sunny out than they were during our cool cloudy June). Just make sure to adjust it gradually to the sun, otherwise the leaves can sunburn.
