Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

i was originally only supposed to get 1 black kitten, then someone elses cat had a litter, so I took one black one from him as well.. then got talked into taking yet a third from the original litter so that the 1st kitty had a litter mate.. before you know it, I had a tribe going. Thought my 2 year old male was gonna freak, but he's actually been quite gentle and has even given one a bath, tho she hisses at him...LOL.

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

wow, this forum (and the site ingeneral) got veeeery quiet these last few days... there a party happening that I don't know about? and better yet,, WHY was I not invited... hrmmmmm??????

Monticello, KY(Zone 6b)

HI Cue yep it's been really quiet on here last few days. If there's a party going on somewhere you probably didn't get an invite cause everyone knows you are busy writing a new book for them to read and they don't want to distract you

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

ROTFL.. well, I need a break every once in a while too ya know...LOL, burn out and the book doesnt get written...LOL

Monticello, KY(Zone 6b)

Yeah I understand burnout I suffer it when I'm working on a crochet project. I think what's going on (or rather not) is that everyone is recovering from the 4th and vacations

Cocoa Beach, FL(Zone 10a)

DH has been to his 50th year high school class reunion on Long Island and I have been left without a car and airport runs etc. Sorry, I haven't been on much because I have my teenage granddaughter and her best friend visiting from FL and my two grandsons visiting from KY. Three of them got dropped off in Cooperstown, NY for summer sailing camp. Now I have my son in law to get to the airport tonight and my son and one grandson for a week until the kids get back from camp. Want to really enjoy the company while they are here. Cooking and baking all their favorites. Thank God my sister lives close and has let me borrow her car. Will try to keep up with the thread but making no promises. Robin, hope you had a fabulous vacation and a successful blueberry hunt and sea glass also. Yesterday we found some wonderful sea shell fossils on the shore of Otsego Lake in Cooperstown. Will try to check in later.

Hi Mittsy,Robin, Cue and Loca and Margaret. HI Everybody. Have you rested up from your trip, Robin? Cue and Loca, I just got back from the post office. Your seeds are coming. Hi Margaret. Did your plants make it yet? I mailed Robin some a while back that took 7 days(used priority mail) and they were mush when they arrived in the heat. Hope yours are in better shape. Going out to work in the garden before the sun gets bad. Talk to ya later.

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

Hi Everyone,
Glad to see you all here... I got a package while I was gone...From Cape Coral Florida...Anyone know who it is from?

Monticello, KY(Zone 6b)

HI Everyone
Mekos so far no package and I just got told it will be tomorrow before I can go to town so I'm off to call the PO and see if we can do something about getting my mail delilvered out here so I can not only receive in a timely manner but send as well. I'm busy sending good thoughts to my new plants to survive no matter what they go through LOL.

Sorry Mindy03 about the mail, The one I sent arejay was suppose to be there before saturday, the post office guy promised me when I sent it and she got it late the next week and as with All my plants, I ship priority mail, supposed to be there 2-3 days. I had one that never arrived to Florida, I re shipped his today. Either they lose the mail or mail carriers don't finish their routes sometimes until they want to. I don't understand it. BUT if yours doesn't arrive safely, I will reship them. I usually have more than one of the things I send. I wonder if arejay and the gang have been making those pumpkin pies again. If they have the mail carriers are over there eating or waiting for their pie.

ROBIN, have you guys been baking pumpkin pies again? The mail seems to be messed up.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

I know all about those mail carriers eating those pumpkin pies. They got my seeds Robin sent and had a big 'ol party somewhere between Maine and Phoenix - lol.

Hi Loca. We finally got some sprinkles of rain last night and been cloudy most of today so hasn't been tooooooo hot today. Somebody is at the pies again. I know they are. Oh, I ment to tell you Loca, when you plant the seed of the poppys, don't move them afterward. Poppys don't like to be disturbed after they are sprouted, so get the beds ready for them and sow where they are going to stay. Tell Cue the same thing. They won't live if you move them after they sprout. I learned the hard way.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Hi, mekos. Thanks for the advice on the poppies!! I so love them and definitely don't want to kill them, so they will get planted where they will stay!!

No rain here in the desert . . . I keep hoping, though!

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

The sun is out here again...we may not have to finish the Ark after all!! Pumpkin? What cue talking about girl?
Strawberry season here!!
What did I spell wrong?

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

me?? eh?? i just been sitting here being quiet.. watching my kitty army

Hi, Cue, I just read somewhere today on here that the hibiscus will sprout faster if you soak them 24hours in hot water. I didn't know that and strange I just ran across it, so when you plant yours, you might want to do that.It said they would sprout in about 7-12 days if soaked in hot water. I think mine took about 3 weeks but I didn't soak, I didn't know to do that. You might should read up on all your seed before you get ready to sow. I never knew to do that before and I thought some of my seeds were duds and after weeks of nothing, I resowed OTHER seeds in the pots and now got stuff popping up everywhere and don't remember what I sowed first. I guess I'll be doing that from now on.(reading the info on soaking or not).

P.S. Hi everybody!! Nice pics Robin...

Hi Loca!

That's a San Germaine plumeria. The ONLY one that will bloom this year. My DH is on a plumeria collection kick. Maybe next year I can share more blooms. The fragrance is divine!!!

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

Hi all I just got home. Went south and picked up my Sis and brought her home with me.
Good to see you on here arejay. Beautiful scene. So peaceful and serene.

It was really quiet on here after the last scramble.

Cue made us all work hard on the last scramble. LOL

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Mental note to get one of them there San Germaine plumies - lol...

Sherri - do you have to bring them in for the winter?

Thanks for the link!!

Oh Robin, the pictures are great. Did you find some pretty colored sea glass? I found a pretty Angel trumpet. Well I got seeds and sowed it. Yes Blondie, I've planted from seeds all my life and the only thing I ever soaked over night was okra seed. I never sowed any tropical seeds before this year and NO one told me I needed to.(Thank you my bestest friend, looks like someone would have told me before I ruined my seeds or had to wait a month or so for them to sprout.) BIG SMILEY FACE!

Wow Mekos! What is the name of that Brug. "I don't know what it is but I want it" kinda thing. LOL

I can't remember names. It's listed on my have list though. I have seeds for it and I planted some. I got this one too. It's summer sunrise.

Well, did I run everyone off? I'm sorry.

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

No I'm Still Here. You have mail mekos

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Nope - just checking in before I leave work. How's the weather in SC? We hit 115 yesterday and more of that today and tomorrow :^(

The weather was good here today. About 90 but overcast and actually pretty nice after we got the shower last night, it must have cooled things off a bit. OOOwww, I hate thinking about 115. You poor baby. That is just awful. I feel for you. Don't work too hard. Talk to you later. Will go check my mail.

Page 10 Mekos. Pant Pant Pant :) How do you take care of all these plants. If you have seeds I'd love to trade you something. Haven't been to your want list yet. I'll have to save that for later. Beans are going to burn LOL

RED Brugmansia sanguinea

Sherri

Lots of them are new sprouts and in pots and lots are in the ground until fall, then in the greenhouse and Many, many are seeds waiting for me to figure if I need to soak or not before planting. Some will remain seed to trade because it's too hard to mail plants long distances. Some, I haven't decided what to do with. Nemophila-penny black, thought I might find a gothic garden for but haven't found any asking for it yet.
