It looks so sad

It sure does. How often are you watering it? Look's like it could use a gulp or two of H2O;-)

Rachel

Edit: Forgot to ask, do you have it in a location where it's getting a lot of sunshine or is it in shady area?

well, due to recent weather conditions... It is underneath a worklamp right now trying to get some heat. I plan on going to agway tomorow to get some plant food for it. Should I bring the plant with me?

Was this plant outside in bad weather condition's there for an extended period of time? Maybe too much watering (lot's of rain)?

it was outside but out of fain drippage, I had it a table on the porch. I move the plant around so it can get a good amout of sunlight

aren't coleus shade plants?

I don't leave my Coleus plant's in too much direct sun. Mine get morning sun. As far as watering your plant goes, try using the finger test. Stick your finger down in the soil an inch or two and see if it feel's on the dry side. If so, then water.

I did the finger test, soil is really wet. thats a pic of the plant when I bought it

Let your plant dry out now and follow the "finger" test in the future;-)

Smileymom, Coleus will burn up here in full sun.....thus mine only get early morning sun.

will do!! I hope it dosnt die I want to give it to my grandma

That's so sweet of you and I am sure your Grandmother will appreciate the plant dearly. Hang in there and be a little patient with your plant;-)

Well, I decided to bring it to the nursery with me. after all, there is only so much you can tell from a picture.
The people there told me that I was watering it to much. I am going to leave it out in the sun untill monday. I am thinking about repotting it to a smaller pot when it dryes up some. Now is not the time.
Thank you guys for all your help. I will leep you updated!!

I don't know about leaving it out in the sun--unless it's a sun coleus they tend to like shade so putting it in the sun when it's already stressed from overwatering may not be the best thing for it.

the tag says it likes part sun and part shade so it's on the porch where it's humid and there's shifting light

well, I dont think anything I do will help it out. Saddley every thing I have done has only hurt it :( I think I am going to leave the pot outstde. when the soil is compleetly dry I will conciter Planting the roots in the ground or in a "beginer" pot and hope mother nature will be kind to me

There is one more thing you could try. I guess first it would be best to check the roots and see if they are healthy and white or brown and mushy. Even if they are mushy or there aren't many left you might still be able to save it.

I am always touting superthrive but the stuff works. I used it on a friends plant that had transplant shock and had dropped almost every leaf, it's doing really well now. I also adopted an Aglaonema suffering badly from root rot and added it when I watered, since it's a root growth stimulant it helped the plant recover, now it's strong and healthy.
It's basically plant vitamins, not as hard on them as fertilizer. You should never give an unhealthy plant fertilizer it's too much for them. Superthrive on the other hand you can use anytime. I buy mine at a local garden center or Fred Meyer. Here's the link to their website (don't be frightened, it looks like a bad infomercial) they have a coupon for a free sample but I'm not sure how long it would take to get that. :)

what is superthrive? how dose it work? The only chemicals I use around my plants are miracle gro, Raid, and on occasion flea powder

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

Superthrive is vitamins that are supposed to act as a root stimulator. If you're using Miracle Gro and Raid around your plants, you should have no concerns at all about using Superthrive.

Superthrive is considered safe and non-toxic. It's a combo of vitamins and hormones that occur naturally in plants. Much safer than Raid :) Basically an all purpose plant vitamin with "plant steroids" in it. To me it smells like liquid vitamins. Not everybody loves that LOL!

Wouldn't ya know I can't find my bottle to get more info. off the label! Bugger! But I highly recommend it. You can use it when transplanting, to help a sick plant recover, or just as a maintenance thing to help keep your plants happy. It won't burn roots like fertilizer can which is why it' so good for stressed plants.

COOL!! I will pick some up next nime I'm at the store
