I have a perennial dianthus that blooms beautifully at first bloom. After that I get numerous buds, but they die before they bloom. I clip the dead buds and again I get a lot of new buds that die again. I water it during dry spells, and have it in full sun. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Dianthus buds die before blooming
How tall is it? Mine got very tall and did the same thing. I have been outside this afternoon cutting mine back. I am not through yet. I have about 20 plants to do.
