And across the yard on a different tree:
Tropical Garden #44
I haven't seen a bud on my neither one of my NBC. I think it needs repotting, which I'm dreading because it is so big now. I love their blooms and they never cease to amaze me, so big and I just love the fragrance. I have a few others, but they are small, so I'm not expecting to see blooms on those new cuttings yet. But my 2 old ones, I've had for about 6 years now. I do think I need to feed them some bloom busters.
Oh, I love MG Cameo Elegance. The color is so pretty. I have a few of those seeds but forgot to grow them this year. I might go ahead and try to germinate them.
LM, the first one looks like a Texas Star Hibiscus, H.coccinea, (or perhaps a certain illegal plant LOL)
Not sure about the second.
LOL! I thought it might be the Texas Star - LOL! It does look like the illegal plant....
I was thinking Texas Star Hibiscus also. The second maybe a lantana.
OK. Thanks!
this one: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6797439 looks like baby wood rose,.. did I send you a big fat black seed?
trust me it isn't an illegal..
second one looks like a B&B salvia
here is a link to the baby woodrose.. http://www.hear.org/starr/plants/images/species/?q=merremia+tuberosa
I'm not sure. I don't think you sent me seeds for the wood rose. The leaves on the wood rose are different - it has 7 points on them.
ROFL! I love the "illegal" comments. I wouldn't even know it if it was growing in my own yard...
It's been a while since I viewed this forum but I have to add that I have enjoyed all the flowering/foliage plant pic's here on the Tropical plant forum.
Placenciarita, your Crape Myrtle is beautiful!
Joeswife, the plant in the middle of pic #6797054, is nothing but a weed....get the shovel out!
LiliMerci, the "tall weed" in your container plant in post #6794843 is common ragweed! It needed to be pulled out along time ago;-) It's a nasty, nasty here and you do not need the shovel for that one.
Thank you Rachel for letting me know about the weed. I will pull it out 1st thing tomorrow morning.
And Candela thank you for the compliment on my pergola. This is the first year I've grown something on it. It is in a good bit of shades so I am limited on what I can grow on it. Also, it is up against the house and my DH does not like for anything to grow onto the house, so I am watching what I'm growing on it. I figured whatever in the container will be "safe" because it will die out in the winter. I am dying to see the blooms that vine though. Is it a Morning Glory or a moonvine??? It's driving me crazy!!!
Rita, I believe you sent me the wonderful Texas Star and the salvia, but I didn't know what they were.
Oh, and I FINALLY have inflos on my no id yellow/white plumeria! I have threaten to cut that tree down if it doesn't bloom this year. No bloom last year and the year before I got frost and it burnt the inflo, so I haven't seen flowers on that tree for 2 years now and it's well over 5.5 (may be 6) feet. I was ready to be done with hauling that thing in and out of my garage or sunroom if it didn't produce some flowers!
The leaves on the salvia you sent me is so different than the Yvonne's Red Salvia that I have out by my mailbox. The red one I have is a lighter green and the leaves are thinner.

My mom has the Joy Perfume tree, the white one, not the yellow one. I love their smell. The fragrance is incredible.
My jasmine is producting tons of flowers right now.

ROFL! I love the "illegal" comments. I wouldn't even know it if it was growing in my own yard...
With the arrests that have been made for having the red texas hibiscus in Houston neither do the cops. ROTFLOL
Rita, the Joy perfume plant is very hard to find in my area. You can only buy it at certain time at the asian supermarket.
Bward, I like your style of gardening as well.
That is the biggest Rice Plant that I have ever seen. There is one growing at my favorite nursery in North Dallas, that I have always admired.
Do you leave your curcumas out for the winter?
This Variegated Sea hibiscus is about 10 feet tall, it has never bloomed for me. I have to cut it back every fall to put the covers on my GH, but I love the variegated foliage.
