and the first dahlia's "twin" (the bud was right behind the first bloom and didn't even see it until it "popped"!)

The first one is an Oriental lily. The second may also be a Dahlia, does the foliage match your other Dahlia?

The foliage doesn't match. Anyway, it looks more like a blanket flower than anything... Thanks for the id!
