What is eating my hollyhocks?

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

If you look closely on this picture, you will see 2 gray bugs on the edge of the leaves. And I see some babies that are red on the spider that came to visit too. The spiders seem to like the hollyhocks for some reason, and I'm not concerned about them, I don't mind spiders. I just don't like something eating my hollyhocks!

It looks like slugs or earwigs. I have had a bad slug problem this year. Are they close to a foundation?

No, I know they are not slugs, I know slugs all to well. Putting a shallow cantainer, sunk into the grown and filling it with beer will take care of the slugs.
These are high up and look almost like a little Rino.

you should catch one and bring it to a bug pro

Well at least they only eat the leaves.
I'm thinking of trying something my boyfriend uses on the plants in the veggie garden and see if it help.
Cayenne pepper. Seems to work in the veggie garden, so worth a try. Bugs don't seem to like it. I wonder why?

Can't really tell from the photo they are to small but from your description it sounds like a weevil

Thank you so much.
I checked bug files and that looks alot like it.
Time to get rid of them :)

Maybe a "leaf hopper" is the culprit. Try using Seven-dust if the Cayenee does not help.
