Blossom - before we leave this thread, I also want to add my "How in the world do you manage to keep up with everything" comment. Hundreds and hundreds of daylilies, not to mention all the other plants that you have. I normally pot up 1 or 2 of a particular plant, but you pot up 50 or more. Hats off to you!

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

LOL! same way I keep up with the weeds...I DONT!!

. some days ya gotta take the good with the bad and that aint easy! Like the hub says, "Just once, AND I MEAN ONCE, I would like to see this garden weed free and looking good from stem to stern".....

Its a chronic work in the midst. er is that mist... I dont know anymore.. I do this in my sleep and while i am awake I am afraid!

Ya know, I have thought about this for a minute.. and that would be to adopt out portions of the garden, a sort of "bed and weedfest" type of thing. Have people come from near and far. They could pay me to thin the beds out.. they could take some of my excess.... and if they did not need all that, ya know, they could just pot up the flowers that are too thick that they dont want from their part of adoption and leave them here for someone else...., They could bribe me with daylilies I dont have or bring in some other plants or garden supplies I do not have and well, have fun digging. We could trade garden stuff, chat garden stuff and just do all sorts of garden stuff, but ya know, its not something everyone likes, and ya can get a back ache jest thinking about doing this sort of thing....... I dont even think it would float.

I mean, c'mon now, who on Gods green earth would want to come to ol' Blossoms weed patch and do a sort of thing like that? I would hate to send anyone home with a back ache ya know... That would be terrible. Then no less to have them pay to adopt a part of it.?...Nah, dont think there is anyone too game for that, I mean seriously... so well anyway, so much for thinking about that for a minute.... but anyway,
Hmmm... well, I dont know. I dont think anyone at all would be game on that.

So, keep yer hat on soils, this lil old weed patch taint much to write home about. Its just a hobby gone wild along with a few good flowers and a plot of weeds.

(__)?

And anyone volunteering for that sorta thing, well you just gotta be a glutton for punishment ya know! So no one here tell me, you would do this sorta kinda thing now ya hear! If ya do it would be too tempting for me to start a new thread called Gardening Mass-o-kissers or some lame thing like that and well, you know Dave, how he just hates to see people going off the deep end and garden and that sort of rot.

Opening the Desperate cafe was a tough one as it was! LOL!

Well cheers soils... (__)? And thanks for apprecaiting the mess and all that stuff! See ya around eh!

Candee - I took a quick glance. LOVELY garden and such a wide variety of flowers! So nice to have all that space, and you have planned it out so nicely. Like that grouping of black containers. And your asiatic, tiger, and oriental lilies - they are all so beautiful.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Thanks Dianne. I do have a lot of variety and I tell you I have dug up and replaced more than I even remember. I go back sometimes and look at garden photos from 01 and such and think now what happened to that lol?
Just last evening I was lookin at some photos from spring 08 and realized that this year I didn't have a single fritillaria this spring.

Like the idea of having a winter series to keep us warm and fuzzy during the snowstorms.
