Did it again! Beautiful Dahlia! I would love one like that! I only have a few dahlias.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Well now that you put it that way LOL.
Yardqueens stargazer reminds me that I used to have one. I even have a photo that we enlarged to hang in our hallway, but it hasn't come back for the past few years.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

I plant the same dahlia tubers in pots and bury them every year. They are slow coming this year but it is still a bit early in the season.

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

Beautiful garden, Sally! Love the birdhouse... what is the silver foliage plant in the lower right corner?

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Liatris beginning to bloom.

I am very lucky that I don't have to dig my dahlias. They stay in the ground and come back every year. I need to divide my big clumps though.

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

There you go with the purple again! I love puple liatris. I have some in the front beds and also in an outlying bed with forsythia. Wish they bloomed at the same time!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Yes you are I do them in pots cause otherwise I forget to get them all pulled up.
Here is the acanthus hungaricus.

Blonde question, is all liatris purple or does it come in colors?

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Monarda and ech

Hi Candee, Everything is looking great! especially love the Monarda! have you still got the red one?
Thanks for clearing that up about the hollyhocks, I knew someone had doubles!
I cleared away loads of weeds and a horrible geranium to give the poker more light, it is doing much better, Thanks!

london England, United Kingdom

OOooo your lottie looks great! Have you got any toms yet? mine are small and green!

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh dear, Candee! I have been calling you Sally... LOL Just like the old lady I am to get everyone mixed up!

I have never seen acanthus hungaricus. It is very pretty! About liatris, I have seen white also but not any other colors so I don't know. I planted some Malva seeds, but no flowers yet.

london England, United Kingdom

tee hee ha ha!! don't worry about it, Candee won't mind, she calls me Gertrude sometimes LOL!

South, TX

I'm Sally, hehe. It is easy to get mixed up. I don't think I knew Haighr was Candee. I LOVE the flowers!

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

Thing of it is, I have known Haighr was Candee, and Sally... I know you are Sally! And terri is Terri. And I just kept calling Candee Sally like I knew what I was doing. Do ya'll get your kids names mixed up? I do. I mean I call them by the wrong name sometimes...LOL

South, TX

I only have one son, ha. Makes that easy. :)

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

I have been known to call my kids by the dog or cat's name...LoL

Christchurch, New Zealand

I used to have a dog that answered to Puss Puss...
I wanted a kitten & got this instead

I once called the dog by my daughter's name... "Stacey's in the trash again!" She was very insulted!

OMG! The gorgeous things growing on here.

Why does that comment "my banana is bloming make me wanna roll on the floor!! LOL!

I wanna see the fruits of that nanner! Nanner nanner nanner!! LOL! Mork!

Liatris comes also in white! I think therre are 2 shades of lavender, but then that may depend on the ph in the soil, dunno on that for sure though

Speaking of PH, my endless summer hydrangea cutting made a pank bloom. The mother plant has a second blossum coming and cant wait to see it!! Whooo Hoo!

That yellow daylily looks like one I have, but then i am only guess in it could be like one I have. It is hard to say without all the particulars in heigh, size of bloom etc!

I have tons of new pics to add here on the daylilies.. but I am soo short on time for the next several days..

Well, everyone have a great weekend, see ya soon like early next week...

Pooof,

aw jeez, its happinging again.. where'd I go?

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

Blossom,

Well, I'd guess it is because you are picturing a banana blooming in the fruitbowl! But I meant banana as in banana plant. And yes there are tiny bananas but even when larger they will not be the edible kind. At least not by us humans! I will post a pic of the bananas when I can get out to take one. Not sure if I will go outside tomorrow or not. If it is over 100 I won't!

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Rolling on the floor still.......ay caraaraaaambaaaah!!! hot banans!

Dont bake yer cookies out there in that oppression ok yardQ!!

Well, today I have drizzle. A wee bit of releive and would have been goood sleeping last night had I been able to fall asleep.

Had writers binge. Was up to 3am composing.

Anyway, Hey dalfyre, lovely dog there. Ours kinda goes by the name of NONO BAD DOG...

My parents used to call me by my brothers name..... I think that is why I now have a complex. And yeah, its a congenital fault! Worst thing about getting called by the wrong name, you begin to come to it!

london England, United Kingdom

LoL I know what you mean Lily!!
My name is the same as my Mums!!!! so Dad says ' Teresa' and I say yes Dad and he says, not you your MUM!!!

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

LOL!

lol - at least your parents spelled it right ;)
Do you find many people put an 'h' in to make it Theresa?
If I had a dollar for every time that extra letter crept in...
My hubby has a similar problem, surname is Tod...
yes just one 'd'
even after spelling it out for them people still put the extra d on the end.
Blossom - I have trained my husband to call my current dog 'clever boy good dog' when he needs him to come.
Usually because the dog has something he shouldn't have, like socks, gloves, the remote control...
if we say 'bad dog' it is a huge game & he runs away.
If we praise him he brings us his 'toy' to show off & trade it for a treat.
Took longer to train hubby than the dog but he gets it now:)
Dalfyre (the other Teresa)

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

LOL! My dog I swear is dyslestic!

Instead of asking to go out she says MOM, come qwick, look what I did....

Never fails a tootsie roll every time! LOL

Now if I can just get her to do it outside. soooo frustrating.

Then of course her Daddy does not do diapers...I think they are training me.

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

Teresa - I have the same problem with people wanting to spell my name with one "n". I think it took my boss almost 20 years to get my name right. On the invitation to his retirement party, his wife still had my name as "Diane", instead of Dianne.

South, TX

Dalfyre, if the doggie takes something, just calmly tell him to "come" and say Good!!!! Then give a treat. I only say positive things to my little doggie. Training is super fast because dogs are very smart once they know what we want.

LoL! Thanks Blossom!
Teresa, most people seem to spell it with a 'h' some say Theraysa lol.
Usual jokes.. Tree sa Green, Tree sa Brown!

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Oh, our dog is smart alright. She knows what I want but she is playfully spite ful! LOL!

Well, went to the nursery today and acquired a half a dozen newbs... will have to take pics...

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

I vote yea... This is a frightfully long month! It was 102 here today. I am surprised my plants are not dead!

london England, United Kingdom

Yikes, that is so hot Yardqueen! Poor you and poor plants, hope it cools down at the weekend for you!
I'd love some of that heat over here, we've gone back to a blanket on the bed LOL!
