where do seeds form on double trumpet plant?

Dunnellon, FL

I raised this beautiful double trumpet plant from a small seed my husband got from a friend. It's had 3 beautiful double flowers that started out looking like okra. I want to collect seeds but so far I haven't seen anything that looks like a seed! Can anyone tell me? Thanks, raylin in Fl.

If you're going to get seeds, they will form where the flowers used to be. Since I have no idea what your double trumpet plant is I can't tell you what they'll look like unfortunately--okra doesn't have trumpet shaped flowers so I'm confused by the description. Seeds can take some time to form after the flowers fall off, so if it just finished blooming I'd be patient for a bit. Plants don't always make seeds though, sometimes conditions aren't right or they don't get pollinated, etc. so if it's been several months since the flowers faded and you haven't seen anything then maybe you're not going to get seeds from it this year.

Hi, yes maybe it's called Angel trumpet?? (not really sure). What I meant by okra was, thats what the bud looked like when it first came on.The flowers are purple in color and they just fall off after a couple days. Anyhow I will keep a close eye on it for sure. Thank you, raylin

Sounds like a Datura, they come in purple and some have double flowers. They have rather distinctive (and large) seedpods, so if yours does make seeds for you, you can't possibly miss them. Here's a picture of a plant that has a seedpod forming http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/32096/
